Hello dear friends and wonderful people in this noble community, I am glad to be able to take part in this engagement challenge topic which is about steem education festival. Indeed, it is quite amazing how steem is putting smiles in our faces.

The engagement challenge for season 7 is already in it's 3rd week. Wow! How time flies! I will like to invite my friends @liasteem @heriadi and @okere-blessing to be part of this challenge. The link is here in case you have missed it.

By means of the contest tips provided, I am going to err my view on the topic of this contest below

What is steem power?

This is that part of steem which has been locked up and can not be transferred out immediately unless a power down is initiated and it takes at least one week to be able to transfer it out.

It is that part of ones assets that has been vested for the purpose of earning more steem in return.

It is that which gives one influence in the blog. It enables the holder to be able to add value to other users publications when the account the holds such steem is use to do upvotes on the publications. The more steempower one has, the more value one can add to a Publication when upvoted.

Steempower is gotten by carrying out a process known as power up.

Power up is done by converting liquid steem to steempower following the simple demonstration that I am going to show now in the screenshots below

Step 1: login to your wallet with your key, then head over to your liquid steem balance and click to select powerup from the options that will be displayed

Step 2: from the dialogue box displayed after you select power up, input the amount of steem you will like to take to the steempower section and click powerup to conclude the action. If it requests for your key, then use the active key to conclude it. See screenshot below

In a situation where you will like to power up your own liquid steem to another user's account, then you will have to click the advance settings after the dialogue box is displayed as you can see in the screenshot below

Selecting the advance settings will take you to another interface where you will have to remove your username from the second box and input the username you will like the steem to powerup to as you can see in the screenshot below and by then you will also input the amount of steem you want to power up to the person

In the screenshot above, where you see "To", that is where the username of the one you are powering up to will be. There, I removed my username which is always there by default and then changed it to steemkidss which is the account I am powering up to. Then the amount and then powerup option.

Power down is the only way to return the powered up steem back to liquid steem section. This is not encouraged unless on rare situations.

Holding steempower for long has so many advantages, if you will like to learn about them, keep powering up and then keep enjoying! I am a recipient of the benefits because I have been powering up and I have held my steempower for long.

What is the influence of steem power in your growth?

Our growth here in steemit is to a large extent determined by the amount of steempower that we have earned or powered up or accumulated over the period we are here. One whose steempower is not growing or increasing can be said to be stagnant in his or her growth

As for me, I have been able to have much influence in this blog by consistently powering up my earnings. I have been able to grow from one level to another as a result of that. The more I upvote other users publications and add value to their publications or make them earn, the more they are encouraged to keep active and the more they come to know and appreciate me. This has made me to be friends with a lot of users and they like me to visit their publications as much as I also want those with considerable stakes to also visit mine. Even though upvote is not just the reason why we publish contents, it is one of those things that encourage us to remain active.

As at this moment, my steempower is 56,882.20. It takes great dedication, consistency and hardwork as well as patience and commitment to be able to get to this height. One also needs self control and good management skills to be able to build our steempower. I am grateful to all the friends who have been upvoting my publications and I am also grateful to the chief curators for their supports.

Building our steempowers is what everyone can do. It's not left for just few users. So long as we all need the upvotes of others, others as well need our own upvotes but especially those that can add value and this means consistently increasing our steempower to be able to add value to the Publications we upvote.

How is your commitment to collect steem power?

I collect steempowers daily, weekly and so on. Because I curate publications daily with my personal account, I also have that earnings to claim whenever I login to my page, it appears as a notification.

I also powerup weekly or whenever I feel like. The truth is that I don't like having liquid steem in my wallet for long for security reasons.

Yes, "security"? Because the steempower can not be moved easily without initiating a power down, it therefore provides security in case of hack or theft of private keys. If this happens, you will be notified that a power down has been initiated and that you should take action if you are not the initiator. If one is able to take action imediately, then before the steempower is powered down, that account must have been recovered. That's the beauty of powerup. So, I am committed to powering up and that is the more reason why, within just 2 years and few months of my joining steemit, I have been able to build my y steempower to what it is today.

We all know that the #club5050 campaign has had a very significant impact on the growth of steem power. What is your opinion?

Without mincing words, the #club5050 initiative has really has significant impact on the growth of steem power. It is only the blind that can not be able to testify to it's goodness. It is true that I have always powered up my earnings right from day 1 that I joined steemit, but this great initiative came to give it even greater push.

Before the club initiative, I was only able to accumulate 15k sp. But since after the club initiative was introduced, it skyrocketed. Please visit my last clubdulphin post and see some of the milestones I have has since then. The link is below

I my opinion,the club initiative is the best thing that has ever happened. It is one of the best initiatives. It is for my own good in that it helps me to build my steem power faster knowing that I can not transfer out more than half of my liquid steem. That always rings bell in mind whenever I want to transfer out my liquid steem and this helps me to always take out less than I power up.

For the purpose of my dear friends who are newbies, I will like to explain what this club initiative is all about because they keep asking me what it is.

Club initiative is an initiative by the steemit team that says that we are to powerup part of our liquid steem to help us build our steem powers.

Recall that when we make publications, we earn when we receive upvotes from others. Then after 7 days, the earnings pay out. So that part of the earnings that go to the liquid steem balance is the part that can be powered up or transferred out any time we want. So this initiative is saying that before we transfer out, we need to powerup some part of it. They also came up with options which we can choose from.

These options include #club5050, #club75 and #club100.

#club5050

To belong to this club, you will need to power up at least half of the steem in your liquid steem section of your wallet. That is, that you should take some , at least half to steempower section, then you can decide what you will do with the rest and you will have to keep doing this for month and continues to remain in that club. Hence, here, you can cash out half any any point in time. I this case, you can use the tag, #club5050 as one of your tags.

#club75

To belong here, one need to power up 3 quarter of ones liquid steem instead of half. That means that for 60 day or two months, you have to divide all your liquid steem by 4 and power up 3 and then you can cash out one part. With this, you can use #club75 as one of your tags in your posts.

#club100

This is the last club and it is highly priced. Anyone who can make it to this stage deserves an applause. It is an elite club so to say. Here, one is to power up all his or her liquid earnings for 90 days and going. You are not to cash out anything at all from your liquid earnings. Then, you can use the tag, #club100.

Please note that the steemit team has not mandated anyone to stick to them. You are free to join any of them at at point in time depending on what you want. And if course you know that anyone who follows this initiative will be highly treasured as you would have aced yourself in line for more supports even though it is not guaranteed. But at least you must have done your part .

And come to think of it, in whose account or wallet are you powering up to? Your own or steemit team's? You see the benefits. We are increasing our steempowers when we follow this initiative. It benefits us personally not to think of the main reason why it was proposed and adopted. It is all thanks to this initiative that I am where I am today. I therefore encourage all yo try hard to be part of it.
