INTRODUCTION: Good day wonderful people of this community, I welcome each and every one of us to the last day of the second week of this contest. I didn't get post in this community last week as my module devices got stolen two days after the commencement of the contest. Here I am today as that occurrence is now of the past.

Today again, I would like to commend the effort of everyone that has contributed in one way or the other to the birth of this beautiful contest. I also appreciate the effort of every communities for their great work in managing the contest.

Yeah, today, I am going to talk on how Steemit has or had changed my life for better. This is going to a be long ride, so, just grab a glass of water and sip through as you read.

Write briefly and clearly how you first got to know steemit and why you decided to join the steemit platform.

So shall we get stated already.

The first ever place I encountered Steemit was on one of my colleague WhatApp status back then in August 2021 close to the end of my first year in university. Well, I wouldn't say we are friend as of that time, but we use to study together.

There is this common issue that almost every Nigeria students experience during the last day of a semester and that issue is that there is not much money remaining. This was never @olawole111 problem, during all the night class we were having in these last days, he was still living the way he has been living and this made me asked him back then how he was doing it.

On that night, I could remember vividly his question was, can you write? and my response to him was "Man, what do you mean? I am a student what other job does a student have than to learn. Even if I can't right now, it is just a matter of time before I can do so very well.

Then he said that he is into Steemit. I actually didn't believe myself at first as I have seen that word on someones status but I overlooked it thinking it is all those ponzi scheme that my brother has always warned me to never engage myself in.

He began to explain to me what Steemit is all about though I was still reluctant at first because I wasn't sure of how I am going to manage that together with my undergraduate studies. Back then, my believe was that writing takes a lot of time but later on, I see that @olawole111 was doing so fine doing both task.

Though, I see how @olawole111 was doing absolutely well in both his study and Steemit, I still wasn't convinced until the end of one semester when I found it really hard to survive. This time around, he noticed this too and he reminds me of the platform and without hesistating, I joined.

When I first started out, he made it clear to me that this is not a get rich quick platform but if I could write very well I have a chance o getting some money to live and not just to survive. This time I was talking about was close to exam period and so I couldn't get started earlier but ever since I had started, I myself have seen the beauty of being a Steemians.

Write in detail how steemit and steem change your life for the better, both for yourself personally, family, friends, or society with the charity activities you do with steem. Doing a steem promo is also part of the kindness you give to others.

How has Steemit change my life for better? Hmmm, this is huge.

FInancially

I will get started by saying that my participating in this contest this week is as a result of the help I received from one of my friend here on Steemit. How? If you went through my introduction, I mentioned that I couldn't participate in all the contest last week as a result of my mobile devices that got stolen.

That one friend that I know his phone number off-hand is @ojerindejoel. He has really been good to me on Steemit as I had mentioned in some of my other post in other communities. Immediately I realized I couldn't find my mobile phone, I put a call through to him using my mother's phone as I know that I have to make a post in every one of the seven communities.

He returned the call later in the night and he told me he was in a class when the number called him. After we conversed, he proposed to send some steem to me so I can get a new phone and that after I had earned some money back I can repay him. I believe you can see why I know his number off-hand. I was so happy because left to me, I didn't see myself getting a new phone anytime soon.

SInce @olawole111 an I live closely, he sent the steem to him which he converted to naira on his finance exchange and with which we went to go and buy a new phone together.

Yeah, that is one way Steem has changed my life for better.

Also, there is this confidence and peace I do have now. I am sure we all experience this peace when we have a source of income. One thing is also for sure is that I will also not have this issue that I use to experience close to the end of the semester. Steemit made this happened too.

Right now, I don't have to disturb my parent every time about me needing money. Isn't this awesome? Of course it is.

Educationally

I can't help but thank @olawole111 for making it possible for me to join this platform it has just been helping me so much.

When I first started out, I could barely construct or write three good paragraphs but after some times I got really use to it and this has even helped me a lot in my undergraduate studies.

I could remember when we were to write a laboratory report back then during my second year in university days, doing so was so easy for me as that will not be the first time I will be writing. I performed excellently well in that course that even my coursemate were surprised as that was our first time of writing a report back then.

Also, I have learnt a lot of new things from different members of different communities especially in this contest and this is why I cant help but thank those people that brought the ide of starting this contest.

Meeting new people

Earlier on, I mentioned how @ojerindejoel made it possible for me to be able to participate in this week contest. What if I told you that I got to know @ojerindejoel from Steemit, yeah, that is it. I got to know him from a general steemit group for people in Ilorin city. He answered most of the questions I used to drop in the group back then and that was how we started.

Ever since then we have been helping each other both on Steemit and in our undergraduate studies. RIght now, he is preparing for a scholarship examination and that is why he hasn't join the contest but by the time he has ace his scholarship examination, he will be here to participate in this contest too.

I have also met some other good people on this platform that has helped me a lot not only on Steemit but in life in general and this has really changed my life for better.

Regarding charity, I have plan already and one of it is to advertize this platform to some of my friend which I already did but just like they said, they would want to meet with me physically so as to warp their head around how Steemt works. This we shall do by the time I am done with my Industrial training.

I would love to teach them how to catch the fish itself and not to just give them fish.
