Being a programmer and a saleman

Good day community! I'm a new person here. Now I am looking for a community where I can write. I am a programmer-developer. I am fond of chess, table tennis and football. I have my own small business in the field of computer development. Being both a developer and a businessman is not easy.And many programmers fail to do it.

Because you can only be a professional in one sphere of job - either be a good programmer or be a good salesman. All people know that to get experience you need 10 thousand hours. A good programmer and a good saleman are very contradictory types if to speak about psychology. The good programmer is fully involved in the process, clearly represents each of its components and software architecture, and a good salesman is very open to all people,he tries to guess their wishes and he doesn't study the architecture of the software product. There are exceptions to any rules for sure but they only confirm the rule: a good programmer cannot be a good salesman. And without a good salesman, it is impossible to create a good business.

If we speak about my friends who are good programmers who tried to create their own business, sometimes it takes a year, sometimes several, a person is completely tired and returns to where he started his business, to software development. He gets a job in some place and continues to improve in the sphere of software development. The question then comes: what exactly did he want to get? May be he wanted to have independence, or he wanted to work for himself, he wanted to communicate with clients. The work of salesman looks very simple: you phone clients, meet with them, sign contracts, set tasks and hand over the completed work. What could be easier?

But communication with the client, like any other field of activity, is an art. You have to talk to clients in a correct manner, ask the right questions, be able to make a discount when it is necessary. So I conclude: selling is not at all easier and not more difficult than programming. If we talk about the business itself, then in addition to communicating with the client, it is also accounting and tax reporting, there are certain risks associated with the cash and a lot of other things. If a person does all this alone, then he either doesn't have time to sell or he has no time to develop, because he constantly communicates with the client.
Still I manage to combine these things in some way.
