SEC-S15W4:I LOVE LOCAL PRODUCTS

Good day everyone, Hope everyone is doing just fine?
First of all in this contest of local product I will start by explaining what local product is all about. Local product are product that are produced, fixed,prepared or processed including the way is being presented that is packaged. This include food, fabrics, plastic and so many others.

    AND CONNECT YOU TOWARDS THEM.

The reason I feel so drawn to local product especially food product is because its simple to get and it those not require any large scale equipment in processing them, the mode of presentation packaging and many others. For example you can just go straight to the farm and get your product just like groundnut, firewood, pepper,garlic ginger and many others most of these food ingredients has nutritional benefits.

EXPLAIN THE BENEFITS AND POSITIVE 
IMPACT OF  SUPPORTING LOCAL PRODUCT.

The benefit and positive impact of me supporting local product is that it promotes the market growth of the community, it makes my neighbors feel happy as I seat and enjoy the food product they produces and it encourages them to produce more of that product for others to buy and enjoy. And the health benefits of local product over foreign product include:
1.cost of transportation is low within the area were the product is.
2.local product are often fresh

  2. And mostly does not need any preservation such as sodium benzoate that is added to beverages for preservation.

    NAME ONE OR TWO LOCAL PRODUCT IN YOUR
    AREA, AND EXPLAIN WHY TOURIST OFTEN
    LOOK FOR IT.

One of the product include :
KILISHI
Kilishi is a meat product that is very popular here in northern Nigerian that I know tourist often look for ,when they come around. Northern part here engage more on rearing of animals , here there is the availability of lean meat in this sector and in order to preserve some of the meat to avoid spoilage another pattern of preserving the meat is by processing it to kilishi product.
Kilishi is a dried meat from cow which other condiments are added to it,to improve the taste of meat and preserve the meat for a longer period of time. Other ingredients include:
1.Groundnut paste( extract the oil)
2.Ginger
3.Garlic
4.Alligator pepper

  1. Seasoning
    6.salt.
    All these ingredients are in cooperated into a slurry and the flattened dried lean meat is dipped into the slurry, then allow it to sun dry and then smoked.below is the picture where I went to some local woman house that prepare the groundnut before grinding and the diagram of kilishi itself.

Another local product include:

KULI-KULI
Kuli- kuli- is an indigenous snack that is generated from groundnut.kuli-kuli is so easy to produce and can be transfer to a long distance area without getting spoiled because after processing the peanut into kuli- kuli it become non perishable product.It does not require much ingredient to prepare. Ingredients include:

  • Groundnut paste or peanut butter
  • Extracted oil from the peanut butter
    *Pepper but optional.
