A beautiful topic to write-up something about.Noon to you all steemians.Seeing this contest,many would love to write-up something on it.As we have different culture and ethnics around us.We practice different religions and also we must have a festival we do celebrate.

This is an event that happens once or twice in a year.We all as a person gather around to celebrate and rejoice our happiness.We are all happy on special day of this kind as it happens not always.We share foods,drinks,gifts and many things.
What is the grand festival in your country, and how do you celebrate that festival? |

I am a Nigerian and a Muslim.We celebrate two different events;eid-filtr(Ramadan period) and eid-adha{eid-kabir}(home going period).
This is an event we celebrate here among the Muslims.We fast during the month of Ramadan for 29 or 30 days.Then, whenever the moon is sighted,we celebrate it.We all move to the masjid to observe our prayers.We make sure to put on our favorite and best clothes and accessories to match it up.When done,we move to our respective places where we welcome guests and entertain them.Most rich people kill ram or cow,share food around the neighborhood.Gathering of family members from faraway land to wine and dine together.For three consecutive days,it keeps on going on.Until a week,we start going to their various homes when done.
This is an event that occurs also among the Muslims but the christians too do partake.We all have a home town we originated from naturally through our ancestors until we relocate to an environment due to an unforeseeable reason.We travel to our home town to celebrate.On the day,we dress in different beautiful attire with different accessories to match it up.Mostly,the ladies will put on abayas while the gentlemen put on their jalabia and expensive wristwatch.Kill ram or cow,share foods around the houses,meet with people we have long seen for a while.This time, we only fast for one day.We won't eat to the masjid to observe our prayers unlike EID-FILTR where we eat.

I will prefer staying with my families and celebrate it together.The more,the merrier.Me going to a new country to celebrate,they might not be aware or not to talk of knowing the festival as per we have different cultures.Staying here to celebrate it is worth it.Going on an outing, happy around with the people I know.We will understand ourselves much better than in a new country I don't know of.

It was this last EID-FILTR festival we celebrated this very year,I and my sisters had to travel to Lagos to meet our family members to celebrate together.It was nice being with them.We had a family house we all stay at doing the period.We killed a cow,ate together,share our laughter together and many more happenings.It was when it was time to go home,I was a little sad as we are not meeting anytime soon again.But it worth being with them.

A grand festival is indeed a great day an individual should never miss out.As you rejoice with others,you get more happier.You won't know where the joy is coming from.I can't wait for more grand festival to come my staying with your family is more good,celebrating a grand festival with them is much better.

Reading your publication I have noticed that both events are of great importance, with few differences from each other.
I think it's good that you wear the best suits (clothes) for the ceremonies.
It is nice to see that the family gathers from afar to all share their holidays together and share together among all those present.

Eid kabir popularly known as sallah by everyone in Nigeria 🇳🇬 is a really important a celebrating period in the life of every Muslim.
And as a christian I always enjoy that period and most especially the day because I receive gift from them like food, drinks, meat etc.
