It's nice participating in this engagement challenge contest organized by the lovely admin and moderators of the Incredible India Community.
For the fifth week, it's an interesting contest titled What do you do to stay balanced in times of stress? by @meraindia.



Stress can be an overwhelming force in our lives, making it hard to stay balanced and remain focused on our goals. In times of stress, it is important to take steps to maintain our mental and emotional well-being.

Follow this article, as I would be sharing some techniques and strategies I use to stay balanced when stress threatens to overwhelm me.

How I Stay Balanced When Overwhelmed By Stress

When stress threatens to overwhelm us, it can be hard to stay balanced. We often find ourselves feeling stuck and unable to move forward.

But if you could follow these few strategies of mine, you would be able to equally manage and stay balanced in the face of adversity.


I Don't Try To Do It All

When stress threatens to overwhelm you, it's easy to feel like you need to do everything at once. But trying to do it all will only leave you feeling exhausted and overwhelmed.

Instead, I focus on one task at a time and give myself a break between tasks. This will help me stay focused and better manage my stress.

If you have too many tasks to complete in a short amount of time, break them up into smaller, more manageable tasks. Start with the most important tasks first, then move on to the less important ones. As you accomplish each task, celebrate your progress and reward yourself for all your hard work.

And more importantly, I am not afraid to say no. I don't take more than I can handle and I ain't afraid to turn down requests that are too demanding. I take time to assess my current obligations before committing to anything else.


I Usually Take Time Out For Myself

In times of stress, it is important to take time for yourself to relax and unwind. Doing something enjoyable can help reduce your stress levels and provide a sense of calm.

I usually take a walk outside and view the good and beautiful things in nature. I equally listen to music or engage in my hobbies if necessary.

Taking a break from whatever is causing you stress can give you the clarity and perspective you need to tackle it more effectively.

So I basically practice self-care activities like yoga, meditation, or even just sitting and breathing can help clear my mind and reset my emotions.

These small breaks throughout the day can make a huge difference in managing stress. It’s important to remember that taking time for yourself doesn’t mean neglecting what needs to get done. Instead, it’s an important part of taking care of yourself so that you can better tackle the tasks at hand.


I Eat Healthy Meals And Exercise

When times are tough, it can be difficult to make healthy choices. The urge to reach for comfort foods and binge on unhealthy snacks can be strong. It’s important to remember that while comfort food might bring temporary relief, it won’t do much to alleviate stress in the long run.

I focus on incorporating nutrient-dense foods into your diet like fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds, healthy fats, and proteins.

Exercise is also important for managing stress, as it boosts endorphins, helps reduce stress hormones, and can help improve mood.

I equally go out for exercises

To get the most out of your workout, choose something you enjoy such as running, yoga, swimming, or biking. Aim to get at least 20 minutes of moderate exercise a day to help reduce stress levels.


I Get Enough Sleep

Sleep is essential for our physical well-being, as it's a time for the body to recharge and for the mind to process the day’s events.

Unfortunately, stress can make it hard to sleep, leading to tiredness and a feeling of overwhelm. So it's important to make sure you're getting enough sleep so that your body and mind can function at their best.


To get enough sleep when am feeling overwhelmed, I try out these tips:

  • I limit caffeine and alcohol intake during the day and evening. Caffeine and alcohol can disrupt the quality of my sleep.

  • I equally stick to a consistent sleep schedule, by going to bed and waking up at the same time every day which has helped keep my body on track.

  • I sometimes take a warm bath or shower, meditate, and read, which helps create a sense of calm before I go to bed.

Three (3) Main Reasons Behind Our Stress

Stress is a problem that affects us all and can take a toll on both our mental and physical health. It can be caused by many different factors, but it is important to identify the main reasons behind our stress in order to learn how to better cope with it.


Below are the 3 main causes of our stress


Financial instability

Financial instability is one of the most common sources of stress, worries about finances can come from a variety of sources, such as an uncertain job market, rising costs of living, inadequate savings or investments, and lack of financial security.

These worries can lead to an overwhelming sense of uncertainty and fear of the future. It’s not just having too little money that can lead to financial stress. Having too much debt can also be a major source of stress and anxiety.

The stress associated with financial issues can lead to high blood pressure, depression, insomnia, headaches, stomach problems, and even heart disease.


Relationship Problems

Relationships, both romantic and platonic, can often be a major source of stress. Whether it’s your partner, family members, or friends, it’s not uncommon to feel overwhelmed by the demands of maintaining a positive relationship.

Conflict between partners or between friends can be especially stressful and can take a toll on our mental health. We can also feel stressed out if we don’t have enough close relationships in our lives or feel like those relationships lack satisfaction.


Career-related Stress

When it comes to stress, having a career can add a significant level of strain to your life. It’s hard enough navigating the professional world, trying to make a good impression and advance in the ranks, without added pressure from the job itself.

Career-related stress can come from different aspects of working life, such as job insecurity, fear of failure, workload, long hours, workplace politics, dealing with difficult co-workers or clients, and not having enough recognition or appreciation for your work.

When it comes to feeling overwhelmed in the workplace, there are several things you can do to help ease the burden. First of all, try and remember that it’s ok to take time for yourself, it's not selfish.

Take breaks throughout the day, go for a walk, meditate, or practice deep breathing exercises. Acknowledge your feelings, talk to someone about them, and don’t be afraid to ask for help if needed.

Should We Take This Problem Seriously And Why?

It’s important to understand that stress is an inescapable part of life, and the challenges we face can either make us stronger or tear us down. It's up to us to decide how we handle these challenges and how much power we give them over our lives.

Taking action and facing our stress head-on can be a positive first step in managing it more effectively. When it comes to tackling the major sources of our stress, such as financial instability, relationship problems, and career-related stress, we need to remember that none of these are insurmountable obstacles.

Through hard work, perseverance, and a positive attitude, we can break through these barriers and come out better for it on the other side. Whether it’s paying off debt, working on communication in our relationships, or finding a job that better suits our skills, there are steps we can take to improve our situations.

Stress can be daunting and overwhelming at times, but it doesn't have to define us. With a bit of courage and dedication, we can overcome any challenge and create a life full of stability and joy.

Stress can be an overwhelming feeling that takes a toll on both our mental and physical well-being. Whether it’s due to a demanding job, a difficult family situation, or any other source of stress, it’s important to take steps to stay balanced and manage our stress levels.

Taking on our stressors and confronting them directly can be a difficult journey, but the rewards of success will be worth the effort in the end.

You have said some very important things here. Really nothing if we don't take pressure. You have presented many reasons for people to get out of everything. All those reasons I am totally confused. I have picked some of my favorite works from there. And the last thing you said, then actually doing what you can, is possibleWorking outside means that it will be considered stressful. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully consider whether I can do the work that I am taking up. Clear knows everything then it seemsWe get relief from stress. Again, to get rid of mental stress, we can see that if we spend time on such things as walking in empty fields, seeing natural things, visiting different sea areas, pleasure trips, etc., then it seems that our stress is relieved.
