SEC17/W5 | Do you believe in reincarnation?

Reincarnation is a logical concept to agree or disagree with, it simply means the rebirth of a dead into another body, taking up a new soul to live again. We all have different views on this concept and I will be willing to share mine with you.

Frankly, I do not believe in reincarnation. In fact, the Holy Bible states that after death, judgment follows. We also believe that no amount of prayers can work for the dead again for they have entered a realm where their deeds on earth will be the only basis for judgement.

Even though, my people in this part of the world believe anyone who dies untimely maybe in a ghastly motor accident or murdered can live again because they haven't fulfilled their purpose on earth. They often share some instances of events they believe as reincarnation.

In Yoruba land, if a mother in a family dies and just within weeks/months one of the children of the deceased gives birth to a female child, they give such a child an automatic name, Yetunde (which means the mother is back in a new body). Likewise, in the case of a deceased father and the birth of a male child, he carries the name Babatunde (which means the father is back).

The illustration in the last paragraph doesn't entirely apply to everyone in the tribe but a vast majority still live by this belief.

I was personally shaken by an experience when we lost a family friend in February who was a professor of mathematics in the US. He came home to pursue his political ambition and during an event, he was shot dead. This is a man who has helped a lot of people, the one who gives hope to people who thought nothing good could come out of them again.

It was a disheartening event and I wrote on my WhatsApp status that "If reincarnation is real, I hope he finds a place and picks it up from where he left off, impacting lives". It's hard to accept the reality of the loss, it almost changed my belief but I still don't believe in reincarnation yet.

Let's take an instance of a user who got a gift of a new mobile phone after he lost the previous one and this time, the new one is better. The previous illustration explains how the restoration of lost items can restore happiness or relationships. For the believers of reincarnation, the occurrence can be a moment of relationship restoration, seeing and feeling the attributes of a lost person in another person.

Even though I can technically analyse how reincarnation can be felt by other people, I still don't believe in it. It takes manifestation to believe in such and I have not experienced any in that realm before. In essence, it may be good for restoring relationships but I'm not certain how truly this manifests.

I love my personality in the life I live right now but not the status. At some point, some of us have talked about having a preference if we eventually get the opportunity to come back to this life and I also have the same wish even though we have no idea if we going to get another chance.

If I'd come back, I would be willing to come back as a whole person in a thriving environment than this and to a family filled with bountifulness. Even if I had to come through my present family, it's still great as long as they are extremely wealthy from the beginning till the end of time.

That said, I would like to come back as a new person with a clear career path from the early age of 6. Venturing into tech at this age will keep me on top of the world as an engineer/programmer. And you know what that means.

Regardless of where you were born or raised, if you enjoy convenience within your space there is no limit to what you can achieve.

In conclusion, it takes personal experience via the manifestation of reincarnation in proximity to believe in it. Even though we have heard a lot of stories that portray reincarnation as a real event, our personal belief is greater than that because people tend to cook up stories.
