The November #1 contest by @sduttaskitchen|Let's play with shadow!
Have you ever played with shadow?
Yes I have play with shadows from my childhood and the simple things I recall are, for instance, having fun by attempting to outcompete my own shadow by running 😀 and checking whether it could follow me and it was like play between light and darkness, when one is chasing the other and I was that light and that darkness so the presence of the shadow was always fascinating because the shadow followed my movements, but it also had its life.
It was really a kind of magic to be honest a kind of traveling in the touch of creative powers, an entirely amusing thing and to this day, I remain an adult occasionally I even caught myself glancing at the shadow to make sure it stays near me 😀.
Share some creations made with shadow.
Some of the creative examples of art and design using shadows:
Shadow Art: It is usually an artistic form in which artists arrange objects or specific material in a way that, when lit, casts particular shadow on a surface in order that a detailed picture becomes visible.
Shadow Puppets: Shadow play has been used in most cultures as a way of narrating stories and entertaining audiences through flicker of lights on screens using figures of different materials.
- Shadow Photography: Some of the main strategies that photographers use are contrast and the manipulation of the foreground and background shadow images. This enables photographers to create different emotions and even different view on something by simply contrast light and shadow.
- Architectural Shadows: A designers or an architect always work towards creating some form of play between light and shade somewhere within the building; this may be done through creating an extended roof overhang, cutting out a section of wall or intentionally choosing certain types of building material to create impressive shadow effects.
Do you believe creativity is in our mind, which has various forms? Describe with some examples!
Yes I believe creativity is one of the most interesting phenomena that is characteristic of people’s brains and can be observed in different ways and it operates from the perspective of creating something that is ‘the first time’ or something that has not been done before and that is what has to do with thinking in unusual or different approaches or coming up with the development of new ideas, fresh concepts and new ways of solving problems and some examples of how creativity can take different forms:
Artistic Creativity: This is probably the one most people are conversant with and is the ability to paint, sculpt art, write, create music and dance, etc. Artists employ creativity, and personal points of view in order to engender feelings and encourage ideas.
**Innovative Creativity:In the realm of innovation creativity is important for developing new inventions, products technologies or processes. One way that innovators approach something is differently form everyone else is through invention. It can include a new product such as the light bulb, the internet or other discoveries in medicine.
Scientific Creativity: Organizing work and thinking also presupposes creativity while developing hypothesis, conducting experiments and making discoveries. Inscience, creativity entails formulation of unique ideas that aid in discovery of new theories or concepts or in improvement of existing theories or segment such as relativity theory proposed by Einstein or genetic science or space research.
4 . Social Creativity: Creativity is evident when social changemakers and activists working towards the change of social issues, equality, and justice, people who work in this field employ the use of other methods such as narratively, artfully, organizing within communities, and policy change to influence the world positively.
And finally, creativity is a valuable and effective tool of personal and social development and it can be applied in arts and in sciences, in business and in promoting social justice and the ability to envision, to investigate, and to innovate the world we encounter every day and which we cohabit with is emblematic of imagination.
