SEC17/W4| Gift that can impress you!
Steem greetings all the way from the motherland-Cameroon to all friends on the incredible India community. I welcome you all to my blog as I share my ideas on the topic “Gift that can impress you!”.
I know we all had once been given a gift in appreciation of something. It might be from a friend, a love one or from a family member. In one way or the other, these gifts kind of brings joy to our lives. I will further share my ideas following the guiding questions below 👇 👇.
What is the preferred gift that can impress you? The reason behind your choice.
The gift that impressed me the most that in my entire life will never forget was in 2011 when my elder sister gave me a digital camera. My elder sister is fun of surprising us the younger ones whenever you performed well in your exams.
Each academic year, she sets her limits of the number of average she wants to see on our end of year results. If your performance is good and she is impressed by the results, she will surprise you with a gift. One good thing about her is that she will look for an opportunity to chat with you to get the choices of gifts we wanted.
During my 2nd year final results in 2010, I performed well and my elder sister was impressed. In my final year, she had a discussion with me about my research topic and the challenges I was facing. One of the problems was lack of a good camera to capture quality images during data collection in the field.
One day, she send me a contact details of someone she send me a digital camera and a laptop for my research work but did not specify to me. I took the contact details and contacted the person and he send me details of his location. Surprising I got there and discovered it was a laptop and digital camera.
I was so excited and at the same time determined to perform well for my final year as undergraduate student. It was the highest gift that has ever made me so happy because it helped me to perform so well in my undergraduate research and I got A grade. Unfortunately both the laptop and camera got bad immediately after I was done with research due to carelessness.
Do you believe the gift is a gesture that sometimes helps to enhance our relationships?
As I earlier mentioned, gifts generally strengthened our bonding as friends or as family. This gesture with good intentions enhanced broken relationships and gives us the opportunity to rebuild again.
Nevertheless, not everyone cherished gifts. Some people do not believe in material things as a way of enhancing friendships or relationships because some gifts are never genuine.
Therefore, material things all in the name of gifts should not be the determinant factor of enhancing relationships unless the intention behind the gift is genuine.
Have you ever received any gift that is still memorable to you; Share if you have any stories.
Of course, I have received several gifts that are memorable to me. The first ever gift as I earlier said was a gift of laptop and a digital camera in 2011 from my elder sister. This enabled me to perform excellent with my dissertation.
Another memorable gift is from my husband, the gift of love. In this world, when you receive hatred anything around you is negative. But when you receive love all the time, all you give out and receive back is love. Remember in life you receive what you give. Because I always receive love from my husband, it makes me gives out love back to everyone that come across my way.
The last but not the least gifts are my kids. They are part of my life forever. They are a blessing from heaven and I’m so proud and happy that God did it so well to my family and blessed us with three adorable kids (two boys and a girl).
In summary, gifts are a way of showing appreciation and they enhance our relationship or friendship in one way or the other if the intentions of the gifts are genuine. Your sister identified your needs and that prompted her to give you a laptop and a digital camera. That's why I said, the needs of the receiver add to the weight of how valuable a gift is.
We can't deny the awesomeness of the gift of children and I'm glad you can count your kids as one of the most valuable gifts you have ever received.
About two weeks ago, I entered into parenthood and I can tell how wonderful it feels. My twin girls have been my most precious gift since then.

Nothing like being surprised, a friend, with a gift like a digital camera. There are people who love to surprise with details to brighten the day or the occasion.
The details strengthen the bonds of friends, but when it is to maintain a good relationship, we always have beautiful memories of those moments that fill us with joy and that we keep with affection.

The excitement owning a digital camera was just enough motivation for me at the undergraduate studies and the gifts strengthen my relationship with my elder sister and we bonded so well. Thank you for the support friend.

So true, we all get gifts but the best gifts one gets either from their parents, spouses or their loved ones. I also consider my child as the best githe ft almighty could have given to me.

Wow a digital camera. I guess that digital camera must have really been so expensive. I believe also it actually comes from the heart of love from your elder sister
I do not always border about the price of a gift for me, however I’m pretty sure that it was expensive given the year that the camera was bought. Thanks for the support.
