Incredible India monthly contest of November #1| Definition of a great leader!
Like they always say, sometimes life throw to us what we expect least and we just need to accept it as it comes. Today I will be participating in the @meraindia Community contest and be sharing my view how far this year have gone.
In your perspective, what's the Definition of a good leader?
In my own perspective, I will say a good leader is an individual that helps to guide and inspire others to achieve a goal or a vision and during that process also creating a very positive environment. Like most people always think it is which is not so, leadership is not about you are in a position or in a place of authority, it actually goes beyond that. When we talk about a good leader, you must have some certain qualities and attributes that will make you to achieve success during leadership.
Some of the good qualities to look for in a leader is first that it must be visionary. You must be able to plan Strategically and also make sure that you present the vision clearly. The second one is that the leader must be emphatic, what do I mean by been empathetic, I mean the ability of been able to control your emotions and not only control but also value your followers emotions most especially. The last one is a good leader must be someone of integrity. You must be able to be trusted and tested. It is very important.
What is the difference between leader and leadership? Explain!
Talking about the difference that exist between a leader and leadership. I will first of all try to establish some basic facts.
When we talk about a leader, we mean the ability to be able to guide and direct people. Examples of a leader is a team manager. While when we talk about leadership, I am talking about the process of guiding and leading people to achieve a common goal. Examples is when a general manager is leading some certain people to achieve a particular goal in a company.
In summary and as I conclude, the leader is the person while the leadership is the practice or process of leading effectively.
Who is your all-time favourite leader? Why?
Well if I want to choose, it will be no other person but Nelson Mandela. Not because I came from Africa but because of what he stand for. Talking about the reason why I actually choose nelson Mandela is because of some attributes he has which I will be talking below.
The first is that Nelson Mandela is a very visionary leadership. What I mean by that is that he works to unite a nation that was divided. The second attribute is because Nelson Mandela have this huge act of sacrifice and Resilience. Even with the suffering he faced, he still ensured he achieved his goals at the end of the day.
