Art - Damage
Here I am
Guarding three figures
Are there three or four?
Do you see what I see?
Number four seems to leave
Unlike me
Time passes by slow, very slowly
I stay
Two years it took to finish it
Still faceless
Is Anna a bad painter, lazy or...
Bored to death like me
On guard
Who would show interest in the ugly trio?
Look!
Observe, closer
Hidden faces behind paint brushes
Eyes, noses, mouths showing
Anger, unattractive, madness
I walk a few steps
Up and down
Those figures seem to follow me
My god, can you believe this?
Two years, unspired
Is this what they call art?
A child's drawing or vintage
Figures
Paint, brush strokes on canvas
Ugliness promoted.
I walk another round
Take a pen
It says Yeltsin
How hard can it be to finish
The unspoken wish to see
Clarity finally given.
So much better
At least two look out
Of three or four
Art damage is from all times and nothing new. Architecture, literature we rarely care and I admit it made me laugh as I saw those eyes. The faces look so much better although the true faces are still visible
Painting: Three Figures (1932-1934) - oil painting
Painter: Anna Leporskaya
December 8, 2021, the painting Three Figures was damaged while on loan to the Yeltsin Center. December 20 they went to the police and the damage was called not serious enough. Two months later it was.

Thank you for making me and art smile @steemcurator06 - @mikitaly
Would you draw little eyes to make those faces more interesting?
A great day to you
This is a shocking horrific story and I'd miss this news if not you; googled out more details how it all happened.
And know what? I've read a similar story decade ago; it is not the same, just have some similarity. If you are intrested to know, I can make an English translation and provide as a separate post. (It was a very cool reading, for me! thats why I remembered the story and could find it again).

I don't consider it horrific or shocking. To me the shocking part is the different ways media told the story. I also wonder what happened to those teenagers talking him into this and of course why all of a sudden this became big news. 3000$ to fix this 🤔
I like to read your art damage review. Reviews about art and artists are welcome in this community.
I look forward to your post.

it wasnt exactly a review; it was a literary retelling of a true story happened, almost an anecdotic one - and I am not its author. I promise to make an English translation to introduce it to you and other Steemians who are obsessed with art. (It is a really gorgeous story!!)
Hmm.. so far I read only 3 news pieces, and I'd say they sound similar (cause internet today is highly about copy-paste, haha!) But the given detalization, indeed, differs.
These are details I found out from the most full news piece (published after the court proceedings). There were no teenagers (they are fictitious). This man told a lot of the bullshit in his defense:
-- some boys asked him to do it... but no one saw them;
-- there was a noisy crowd that day and he had a bad headache because of it;
-- he is a veteran of the Chechen war, and his head is damaged by shrapnel;
-- he does not work there on a permanent basis, but only replaced a permanent employee ...
-- and therefore was not properly instructed;
... and so on and so forth - all these are bullshit excuses that his lawyer came up with to mitigate the guilt of his client. This is very visible between the text lines. But the whole truth is that this man is an asshole! and with his act he clearly expressed his attitude to abstract and avant-garde art.
For me, the most terrifying part was not even his act , no. It was the consequences ... the difficult path, the handicap with obstacles, which the interested parties were forced to take in order to bring him to trial. The local authorities and the police were not interested at all in finding the criminal and carrying their direct duties. Bullshit! Only when the Russian capital's Ministry of Culture (!) directly wrote a complaint to the Main Prosecutor's Office about the inaction of the local police, demanding the case to be reclassified as "damage to the cultural heritage" - only after that the rusty wheels of justice slowly began to creak... This was the most offensive thing for me. Maybe now you understand better how the law works in Russia (doesn't work at all... almost).

I like it! Sorry for going a bit AWOL btw.
How are you Kitty?
You like the eyes drawn? Because I do. It still makes me laugh 🤣
I am where you are or were and you k ow where that is and how it works or doesn't work. Just give me a sign of life once in a while.
We can still draw an oval for @tezzmax his scribble lesson 2... with tiny eyes 🐈⬛
How are you?
🤗🍀♥️
Lol...... Your comments often crack me up. 😂
A cracked egg with eyes it will be 🤣
We have today left right?
Yes. I'll be rolling out tomorrow noon.
Hard to tell. I'm fine for the most part, but I suspect I might going through male equivalent of menopause. Only a matter of time until I start riding motorcycles and sign up for Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes.
The composition is really beautiful and I find the placement so fascinating.
I don't know... The hiair looks dirty and the 4th figure walking away...
You didn't gave your opinion about the faces.. The eyes, noses and mouths are there.
I like the new eyes. That 63+ years old ex guard is a great doodler. 😁
Lol.... It's an abstract piece so many things go. It's not an imitation of reality.
I see three figures.
Mdaaa... someone had to be persuasive and convincing!
The 4th figure to me is the body of the figure in the middle. It's as if he walks away and I see hair and a forehead.
Yes, someone made clear it was a huge damage amd someone should pay the bills.
I understood right from the start your vision, where did you see the 4th figure. I didnt. Its a question of personal perception, right?
It is indeed a question of perception just like what we see in the clouds or not.
They say it also depends on the shape of the eyes (no idea if that's true) or which part of a picture (scenery/person) we see first (I believe that's true).
♥️🍀
You are so good when it comes to writing. I’m so amazed how you made this faceless drawing come to life with your words .
Have a close look there are faces...
