Didn't even know lensballs were things XD Have seen some pictures with them and thought oh yeh that's an interesting use of a glass ball (which are things which I've seen decoratively XD). Now I know.
The iPhone didn't do too bad a job, the ones you take iwht a DSLR are probably going to be even cooler.
Glass balls are also used to do kinda juggling tricks:
However they don't require high quality glass as for photography which needs them to be super clear. The clarity for those are labelled by a number prefixed with the letter
K. In my case, it's a K9. The higher the number the clearer is the glass and the more expensive.
