A visit to a poetic place : Rabindra Kuthibari, Shilaidaha,Kushtia, Bangladesh

Today I'll share my visit to a great place of Bangladesh. It’s Shilaidaha Rabindra Kuthibari, Kumarkhali,Kushtia, Bangladesh. It is a two storey house where lived the greatest Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore. He is a noble laureate in literature, first among the asians who got that honourable prize in literature. He spent quite a time here. Actually he is from A Kolkata based Landlord family. He lived here to look after their lands.

This is the view from the main entrance of the building complex.it's a nice building. the surrounding are also so beautiful. there are a lot of flower trees.the building complex is well decorated and well maintained. Bangladesh archaeological department looks after it.

this is the partial view of the main building. it's a 2 storey red building. It’s a british architectural building. There are many commemorative stuffs related to Rabindranath Tagore including his used Furnitures,Boats. There are pictures of his literary items that was scribed there. There are also some drawings & paintings made by himself. You may see pictures of himself at different age.

This is a guest house.As it’s now a tourist spot.there are some guest houses for the tourists. People at large number visit there throughout the year. It’s one of the main tourist attractions of Bangladesh. As Rabindranath has a great influence on Bengali community over the world people admire him & loves him immense. Bengalis are very keen to literature & music. Rabindranath was a legend a polymath. His contribution in different streams is priceless. That's why this is place is so important to people.

Outside the building complex there are some small businesses like kulfi (famous Kushtian food),pickles,street food, bubble shooting, coconut, horse carriage etc. You may the horse owner is preparing his carriage & horses for the toursits. People may have a ride in that horse-carriage.

Then there are some shops there. Mainly small shops containing local cultural items. the people who visit there buy something as souvenirs of the visit. There are things of crafts,showpieces, wooden items,clay items etc. There are some local food restaurants.

So that's it.
I titled it for the resembles of this places' in the life & culture of Bengali people. It means a lot to us. Specially the admirers of Rabindranath Tagore. And he is one of the most influential Bengalis. So it is justified.
