Art and Creativity: Looking at Shadows and Light
One of the things I like to do is consider everyday things around us from a perspective we perhaps don't think about very often.
Light and shadows cast can become art, in and of itself.
Here, the leaf is in bright sunlight, but another leaf casts a shadow across it, resulting in an interesting contrast.
Two stones on the beach, partially embedded in the sand.
It's late in the afternoon and the sun is low in the sky... in time, those shadows will become very long.
Flowers, at the side of the road.
We actually can see more definition in the shadows than in the actual plant.
The shadow of a simply overhead trellis makes the wall of this house look a bit like it is behind prison bars.
Shadow across a leaf, again... this one more defined, almost like a creature (elephant?) coming in from the left to "get" it.
Part of what makes interesting art and imagery is the willingness to just STOP and consider the world around us from an alternative angle.
Thanks for stopping by!
