Hello dear friends how are you all? I hope you are very well by the grace of God. I am also very well by the grace of Allah. Today I appeared with a contest entry post. The contests running in the fourth week of the Steemit Engagement Challenge Season Twenty are excellent. A teaching contest published by xkool is, SEC | S20W4: "ROLE OF AGRICULTURE IN THE ECONOMY" I am ready to participate in this competition with pleasure. Let's begin .

Explain the social and industrial roles of agriculture in your country, sighting one of the main grown crop.

Bangladesh is an agricultural country. Most of the people of this country depend on agriculture for their livelihood. Supports agriculture as a simple and better way for people to lead their lives. The role of agriculture in social and industrial development in Bangladesh is very important. I will be happy to present to you one thing that the contribution of agriculture to the GDP of Bangladesh is immense. According to Economic Survey of Bangladesh 2021, the contribution of agriculture to GDP is 13.46%. It has added quite a lot to the economy of our country. It is playing a great role in industrial development and social development.

In terms of social development, people have considered agriculture as a means of livelihood. In this, various social activities are being completed in the society through agriculture. Bangladeshi people mainly depend on agriculture, they contribute to the social and industrial development of the country by spending their time and effort in agriculture. The contribution of agriculture to the industrial and social development of Bangladesh cannot be forgotten. If I am a conscious citizen then I am bound to believe that the agricultural sector plays a major role in the social and industrial development of Bangladesh. Jute is considered as a cash crop for this country. Jute is called the golden fiber of Bangladesh. Which is contributing to the social and industrial development of the country by contributing to the country and abroad.

How has this main grown agriproduct helped in reducing poverty and as well promote rural development in your country?

I have mentioned jute as the main cash crop. It undoubtedly helps in industrial development and poverty reduction in our country. Jute cultivation has played a major role in rural development besides reducing poverty in the country. Since ancient times, jute has been at the top for cultivation in this country. Because of which it was possible to earn huge currency by exporting jute cultivated by the farmers abroad. In this way jute has gained great popularity in different countries of the world as a major cash crop. I am impressed with the role of jute and its contribution is undeniable.

Cultivation of jute was very easy and it was more profitable. And that's why the farmers were very focused on cultivating jute in their land. Jute cultivation is very extensive in agricultural land to collect a huge amount. It costs less and the furniture made from it is eco-friendly. Various textile mills were established in the country based on jute cultivation. The unemployment of the country is eliminated through textile mills and the people of the country are able to come out of the net of poverty. Apart from this, jute fibers can be spread and made into various shiny furniture, which can be very beneficial in rural life. From jute we get wood which is the most simple role for lighting fire. Jute is one of the most convenient and highly profitable agricultural products. This jute is helping to enrich the country's economy and reduce the country's poverty. It cannot be denied.

What are the main challenges facing your country's top crops (e.g., cocoa, palm, maize, wheat, rice, etc.) in terms of economic impact?

From the economic point of view, rice is the most useful and essential crop in our country. Rice is the staple food of the people of Bangladesh. Cultivating rice to meet the food demand lasts for several seasons for us. In the same year in some regions of our country paddy is cultivated almost thrice. Because Bangladesh still needs more cultivation to meet the demand of rice. Basically, from the point of view of demand and economy, it is more important to meet its demand by cultivating rice. More than 1 million tons of rice is imported into Bangladesh every year from abroad. It requires a very big budget. The amount of paddy cultivation should be increased to meet the budget deficit. Although it is relatively expensive in time and money to cultivate.

We have to sacrifice some money to grow this crop. Because the financial impact of rice cultivation is high. Because of which I noticed that it is quite challenging to grow rice in this country. Not getting cheap price for rice cultivation especially for the poor farming community. Looking at the economic impact of my country, I believe that rice farming is one of the ways to increase the country's economic prosperity. Otherwise we have to import rice at huge cost to meet our demand. This may cause deficit in the country's economic growth.

What current or past government initiatives are boosting agricultural productivity in your country?

These two organizations (BARI) and (BADC) are playing a major role in developing the agriculture of our country. Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute and Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation for agricultural development under government initiative in Bangladesh. These two organizations play a major role in the agricultural development of Bangladesh. I am happy to see these two institutions of my country working with transparency. They continue their struggle to add this prosperity to the country's agriculture. Farmers of the country are finding good means in the development of agricultural economy of the country with the initiative of BARI and BADC.

The work of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute is to discover improved varieties through various researches. Through which various new varieties, high yielding varieties are being discovered in agriculture. Along with that, the work of Bangladeshi Agricultural Development Corporation is to increase the yield. That's why they have developed various natural and artificial chemical fertilizers for farmers. At the same time, they are playing a supporting role in improving the agriculture sector by guiding the farmers in various directions. So I can say that BARI and BADC are playing a major role in the development of agriculture in Bangladesh.

What solutions can enhance agricultural productivity and growth in your country?

We should bring several solutions to improve the agriculture sector of Bangladesh. I think some solutions can improve the agriculture sector of our country. I will mention below some solutions for agricultural development of our country. If we can solve that, our agriculture sector may be better.

• To increase the production and supply of good quality seeds from the government institutions of the country. Along with this, arranging to reach the better quality seeds at the farmer level. This enables them to get better seeds and higher yields in their land. There is some deficiency in this regard.

• More manpower should be increased especially at the rural field level. Every Union Parishad should have an Agriculture Center to guide the farmers. From here farmers will find their various solutions.

• Area wise production of seeds and proper planting of them. Also providing training to farmers. This will bring better yield in the agricultural lands of the area.

• Development of irrigation projects, development of irrigation projects in agriculture in Bangladesh. So that agricultural lands get adequate irrigation and proper management.

Besides identifying any other problems and solving them can add more prosperity to the agriculture sector.
