Agriculture has been of great impact in our society today, most families and communities has gone back to the farm using crude implements and other mechanical tools, i must say agriculture is putting food in people's table today. Most people now export some of these agricultural products to other countries this growing wealth for some business.

Moreso, most raw materials are being processed to basic finished goods from our farm. There has been great industrial roles, the agriculture has contributed. Mot companies run as a result if agricultural presence. Several finished products such as wheat flour which is used to make semolina and some other finished products such as bread are processed from the farm.

Interestingly, the basic crops are now polished and refined to make beautiful finished products such as pasta as in flour, oat meal and quaka oats, maize is also used in making most finished product too such as corn flakes, golden morn and others. The industrialization has evolved and agriculture has come to stay. Most exportation generate revenue for the country such as export of cash crops cashew, crude oil, groundnut and so on. They really help the economy of the country.

However, our social growth is being witnessed as we now know there are African dishes outside the shores of the country. Most importantly Nigerian cuisine in various countries of the world today. Thus bringing out cultural heritage to the world while throwing our social lifestyle out to the world through our agriculture.

Employment Generation: Industries where food processing and refining is done has wiped tears off the eyes of most people. They end up having something doing. They find joy in getting employed this reducing the unemployment level in the country to a considerable amount.

Wealth Creation: These agro-based products in one way or the other generated wealth for a great populace, most of these agro product are transported from one state to another, thus generating some farmers wealth from.thse agro based products, others sell these products and raw materials to industries for refining to finished products and make profits.

Modernized Agriculture: Long before now the farmers use crude implements, but wealth generated from these sectors ha attracted foreign investors which yielded the importation of mechanical and modern equipment for ploughing the farms, process the food in factory and package them professionally

What are the main challenges facing your country's top crops (e.g cocoa, palm, maize, wheat, rice) in terms of economic impact?

There are various challenges posing threat to our country's top crops which has been a way of affecting our economy. The main challenges are these

• Flooding: This is a major challenge during the rainy season, the crops are destroyed by rain storms, flooding wash away most of these crops and reduce economic profits intended. This is a major challenge lurking around our country's top crops.

• Erosion & Leaching: Most land mass face erosion and thus destroying these soil for agriculture. The leaching of the soil nutrients make the soil unfit for agriculture. A great percentage of our land has been affected by this due to bad land tenure system and lack of crop rotation and shifting cultivation.

• High Cost Of Production: These crops after harvest get more difficult during storage and production to finished goods due to high cost of living and cost of production. Everything is quite expensive and this pose threat to producing quality products from our farm.

What current or past government initiative are boosting agricultural productivity in your country

---

The government that really affects the boosting of agricultural productivity was the "Operation Feed the Nation" it made everyone go back to the farms, there was an embargo on the importation of food and this made our economy grow.

Moreso the "Ottah Farm" created by a top government official created jobs fo young people, alot were gainfully employed. They were allowed to farm in hectares of land of the government and get paid. Ths created wealth for them too. This is one of the greatest government initiative so far.

What solution can enhance agricultural productivity and growth in your country

---

The main solution which can enhance productivity is funding. The economy is so tough so if there is a chance that these government can create room for sponsoring agro-based products. Factories and huge agricultural farms for a specific period of time, say 5 months thus could stand on their feet and make more impact thus growing their agricultural business.

Finally, loans and huge monetary benefits to these struggling and agro-based community would go long way in boosting our agricultural productivity and growth. I do believe we would get to our glory days in agriculture eventually
