Lady Gaga's extended play "The Fame Monster" is doing good, while the singles from mentioned EP were also commercially successful. The third single released from the EP was "Alejandro" which at that time has compared Lady Gaga to Madonna with her controversial antics, the Spanish influence like the latter did on her song "La Isla Bonita", and even the style. "Alejandro" became a global hit when it peaked at number 5 in Billboard Hot 100, and number 4 in US Mainstream chart. It was certified 4x platinum in America. The song was a hit elsewhere including Europe where it peaked at number 2, and number 7 in UK Singles Chart.
