The livelihood of a student/entrepreneur: 22/04/2022

Greetings to you all great steemians and a special thanks to this beautiful new community (UNIQUE-BE UNLIKE), for the opportunity granted to share our various thoughts, feelings and livelihood. Permit me share with you the little livestyle of my kid sister.

Emilien is a year two student in the university of Buea, age 21 and owns of a small feet Washing business, which she created herself. In the following lines, I will be sharing how she came up with the idea of washing people legs and which has become her business line.

Yesterday evening, I asked her what what triggered her to start washing people's legs. So she said, she got up one morning while in her room, her two friends came visiting and they all sat on her carpet floor. At one point, she looked at the legs of one of the ladies and she was like can u not wash this your feet?, They are are too rough. But she told her she could not do it, so my kid sister asked her if she wash her legs properly, will pay? And she responded "yes". They are agreed on 1000f as price for washing both legs. Emilien therefore went out bought new blade, came back, warmed water and added salt, did it the first washing the traditional way. 😊

After that, she took some pictures and posted on her status, saying she does foot wash, and some other two schoolmates called and she went to their houses did same to them.
A couple of days later, few other classmates called and booked, and that's when she now realized she was making little profit from it and decided to use the profit she had, plus part of her picked allowance to buy chemicals, footwash machine, gloves, grater and some new towels to start washing the modern way.
So, she left from footwash using blades (traditional way) to footwash using machine (modern way). With with the modern footwash, she stepped up the price from 1000f to 4000f per person, and she at the level of a foot and hand wash machine.

Nevertheless, she had to look for a name to address her small business with, and so she came up with "Emi's foot touch". Today, she is aiming to open a small Spa by God's Grace.

Moral lesson.
As student, it has really been helping her when it comes to feeding, clothing, buying handouts, paying tithe in church, because she has stopped calling me to send small money for handouts and basic needs. I really wish our young sisters especially those in Buea and Bambili for education could learn from this small example. This will greatly help them become independent, strong young women in the society and the rate of sexual harassment on them will greatly reduce, since they will be working their own small cash.
