How can I ever forget the best teacher I had in High school? Kaharol Pilot Girls High School, Dinajpur was my school. My favorite teacher was my math teacher, Mohammad Selim Islam. With him we had great opportunities to spend a lot of time and he was a great contribution to my personality and life.
Tell about a teacher which you can't forget?
My Fav Teacher |
---|
I have to recall him because he was not only the teacher but also the one who showed the path to follow. He not only gave us knowledge about math, but about life – what to do when faced with a certain obstacle, whether to stand still, or to solve it out. His Engaging approach made us more confident through simple and real method of teaching. He taught us how to turn weaknesses into strength.
What value does he or she add to your life?
The most valuable lesson which I got from him is frugality, work-oriented mentality, and the importance of time. He always used to say "you cannot achieve big things in one day but if you work a little everyday you will achieve big things". This lesson gave me the ability to look at challenges in life. Determinations, perseverance and hard work are some of the things that I learned from him.
Which subject does it teach?
He was our math teacher. Most of my friends never did well in math, but the way that he explained it was simple. He explained the complex in simple terms. He reminded us all that any problem does in fact have a solution if you keep at it.
If you remember any moment with your teacher then let us know?
Unforgettable Moment |

I have one special moment which I remember. Sometimes I got stuck with a math problem and couldn’t do it no matter how many attempts I made. I felt very discouraged. One day Sir came up to me and told me very calmly - You are making mistake and you are also learning from the mistake that you have done wrong. Every wrong step is the way to reach the correct decision. What he said made me feel confident and much later, I was able to find the answer. On that day I learnt that it is okay to make mistakes.
I have had these moments and these lessons and I still inspire from them today.

Some teachers now don't even allow you to make mistakes, when you make a mistake then you're cast out. It took me a long time to learn to make mistakes and be fine with. You are really lucky to have a good teacher. They are very rare.
You are right. Many teachers don't care, don't teach and let you figure it out yourself and if you make a mistake they finish you.
It’s sad some teachers don’t allow mistakes. A good teacher who supports that is rare. I am really lucky for some teachers.
