NASA planning mission to Venus in search of life

NASA is planning to approve up to 2 missions to Venus by next April.  Earlier this week, in journal- Nature Astronomy, Greaves et al. published an article providing evidence for the existence of Phosphine gas in the atmosphere of Venus. Phosphine gas is not expected to persist in the atmosphere of Venus for long time even if it is formed somehow. As of now, we don't know of any abiotic process (means those which does not involve life) that can generate detectable amount of phosphine gas. This indirectly points to the possibility of existence of life in Venus. This might be the main reason for NASA's current mission plans to Venus.
