Mastercard Will Let Merchants Accept Payments in Crypto This Year - CoinDesk

Mastercard is now following on heels of Paypal's earlier announcement that it would start accepting cryptocurrencies iterating their acceptance in each country gradually. 

Visa to has expressed its intentions to incorporate cryptocurrencies in its offerings. 

Whilst the cryptocurrency market remains volatile, credit card/ payment processing companies and merchants are likely to accept only  stablecoins or to instantly convert the cryptocurrencies that they accept into fiat currencies. In countries where cryptocurrencies are not recognized as legal tender payments and settlements with regulated bodies and governments bodies will still be in fiat either through a direct fiat payment or through conversion from crypto/stablecoin to fiat.
