Contest: How I Store and Preserve my Farm Produce.

Starting by wishing good health to all steemit friends. Nature and Agriculture community has organized a great contest on the preservation of crops. Today I will participate in this contest with my experience. Also through this contest I will get to know about the experience of different users. So let's start.

What kind of crops do you produce?

Bangladesh is an agricultural country. Different types of crops are produced in this country depending on the season. But the main source of livelihood of the people in the village is the produce. I live in the village and I also produce different types of crops. Different crops are grown in different places depending on the region. Due to the fertile soil of our region, the main crop is paddy. Besides, different types of crops are produced depending on the season such as jute, wheat, maize and different types of vegetables.

In our region paddy is grown three times a year. Our region is Gazipur and floods are very less. So farmers can profit by producing crop according to the rules. My family means we grow paddy and sometimes corn. Also we grow different kinds of vegetables in the empty spaces around our house.

• How do you store and store your product so that it lasts longer?

Paddy is the main crop produced by us and the region. We can store rice in two ways and keep it throughout the year.

• After harvesting the rice, clean the dirt from the rice and dry it well in the sun and keep it in a dry place. It can be preserved throughout the year.

• Besides, after harvesting the rice, after cleaning the dirt from the rice, after boiling the rice with enough water, dry it in the sun and make the rice with a machine and it can be stored throughout the year.
  We usually use both methods.

• Corn must be dry and clean. Corn can be dried in the sun. If the corn is dried, the corn ear is free from insects and diseases. One can be preserved like this for a whole year.

• Besides, different types of vegetables like onions, potatoes, tomatoes etc. can be stored throughout the year.

Potatoes : Clean and dry potatoes can be stored for a long time if spread on the ground or on sacks where the air is moist.

Tomatoes : Tomatoes can be stored for a long time if they are spread on the ground in a dry place where the air flows. Besides, tomatoes can be stored for a long time by boiling them and keeping them in the refrigerator.

Onion : Choose good onion and spread it in a clean dry place. Onion can be preserved for a long time.

• How safe are your storage methods for human health when such products are consumed?

Most of the methods I use are naturally preserved crops. I think it is not scientific if the crops are preserved in a natural way. Because no medicine or formalin is used in the products produced because it is very good for our body. Since ancient times, the farmers of our country have been preserving the naturally produced crops. But nowadays some greedy traders do not save naturally.

Various types of preserved vegetables are sold in the market which are preserved by greedy traders with various drugs and formalin. They cause a lot of harm to our body and after eating them we develop various diseases.

So we all should preserve products naturally etc.
