In my area, we have many types of successful crops, but this one is the best in the area, yam is the most successful crop in my place, every year we used to have a big of yam, in my place if you plant yam in large scale farmers you will not regret it, because it will do well as much as you want and the harvest will be more than what you plant. Most in my area, if you want to make yourself rich, buy land, and start a yam farm, you will make it. In my area, if you want a profitable harvest, plant your yam in swam areas. You will harvest and tire, and you will make that will you life that year.

What was the average yield and market price of this crop?

In the rainy sea, son yam is very costly, because it will be scared. In the rainy season, when they are just planting it, it is very expensive. In that rainy season, you will,l do not see better than the dry season. In raining season, one tuber of yam is 3 thousand naira, and it will not be better yam. But dry season yam is the best because it will be sweeter than the rainy season; in the dry season, yam is 1 thousand naira, so the average price is 2 thousand naira.

How much did it cost to cultivate till harvest and what was the total profit from this crop?

To cultivate yam is very expensive because you buy this things including the following, yam seedlings, they will clear the farm, they will make mounce, etc. you cannot go to the market and buy one seedling, you most buy it in bunches. You start by clearing the farmland, you will pay the person less than 12 thousand, and packing the grass on the farm will cost less than 8 thousand nairas, they will make mounce for you, then will cost less than 40. And you buy seedlings, the seedlings will be many, seedlings Price will be less than 150 thousand nairas if you get a profitable harvest do as say, and you be spraying the farm with chemical,s, and you will pay the person that is spraying the grass less than 15 thousannairasras. You need at least 300 thousand naira to make your farm. The farm also needs yam bands,s, which are kept after harvest.

As a new farm you need money to do this yam because in my area now you need money for the farm before getting a profitable harvest, if you don't have enough money to start the farm use any amount you have, when you start with that low amount when it is time for harvest don't eat many of all, or you save it for the next year.
