Insight to the Word: Your state of mind dictate your speech
In reference to the Word of God in Matthew 12:33-37, There is no way you can produce good fruit if the source of your product is bad. Whatever you say from your mouth is straight from your mind for that is where the words are generated from. There is no doubt about that but why can a mind be filled with either good or bad?

The mind is a memory and it will bring to your reminder all that you have received be it through listening or seeing. As a Christian, you need to be careful of what you are engaging in because it will tell others who you are when it begins to come out in your speech and attitude. Your focus should be to please God and to have eternal life. The world is filled with so many things that can corrupt the mind of a Christian and that is why the scripture encourages us to renew our mind continuously.
Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Putting off the old records with new ones in your mind can be done by studying and meditating in the word of God which will reflect in you the will of God. Whatever knowledge you acquire is not only for you but for people around you and the impact of it can be used to Judge you.
Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

The Bible speaks not of the mind but of the heart. Obviously our thoughts don't come from the physical organ of the heart but we can speak of the heart when we speak of our feelings and deepest held values.
(Matthew 15:19 NIV) For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.
