A Recent Conversation - Coronavirus Series
Mat 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Yesterday got in a conversation with a fellow believer and follower in Christ. This was not an argument, but a healthy look at God’s Word from two very different viewpoints. Please comment on your views. Thanks!

Viewpoint #1 This person Is Having Hip Problems
I cannot ask God to heal my hips and expect Him to do so. He could heal me if He wanted to, but it is His choice. Look at the folks written about in Hebrews 11!”
Heb 11:33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
Heb 11:34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
Heb 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
Heb 11:36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
Heb 11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
Heb 11:38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
But also look at the very last verse.
Heb 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
This person told me that it would be self serving to ask God to heal her hips and to believe He would

For me, I think when someone gets healed, it brings glory to God. This as believers is our sole purpose. Even when I ask God to heal me, it is for His Glory. The people of God of old had this in their minds and hearts.
Samuel
1Sa 12:23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:
Joseph
Gen 39:9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
My Point
1Co 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Jesus told us to ask and receive and that I this asking and receiving we would bring glory to God.
Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
My thoughts are that believing God’s Word over anything and everything else is the best way to honor Him. The number one way to dishonor God is to no believe Him. Even God's Word calls an unbelieving heart an evil heart.
Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
I we are asking God to do something it cannot be just for our own comfort. We ask amiss if we are not having a zeal for God Himself.
Jas 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
Jas 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
THIS IS WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO ME
The bible clearly shows that Jesus bore our sicknesses and diseases. He bore our sins, even our curse! He condemned sin and sickness on the cross. While He walked the earth He destroyed the work of the devil. He never sent anyone away that came to Him for healing. He never told anyone to go home because God was teaching them a lesson. He was and is compassionate! He is the same, yesterday today and forever!
When we ask God to heal us and we pray in the Name of Jesus and this produces amazing results, God the Father is glorified and the Name of Jesus is lifted up. It is God’s way to ease the suffering of His creation. To ask God to heal you honors Him. Honors His Word!
This is my personal prayer to God. “Lord, please don’t let me let one drop of blood that Jesus shed for me, not one stripe He took upon His back, not one curse or sickness He bore for me, fall to the ground in vain. I want to take advantage of everything He won for me on the cross. I would hate that He would have suffered for me and I did not take the benefit He intended for me.”
Php 3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
