RE: Mindful Monday - Losing My Religon
The Chopra line says it all in that one short sentence. I think it's remarkable that so many people think that their religion is divine and created by God, when every single religion is a construct of man. I've studied many religions, but I'm most familiar with Christianity.
There's a difference between God and religion. If there wasn't, why would we need so many of them?
In Christianity, I believe the only parts of the book where one can logically accept them as being truth received directly from God, would be the ten commandments and the quoted words of Jesus. The entire rest of the book consists of the ideas and words of men. Men created a lot of the "rules."
I find it perplexing that the religious people of the world worship and serve the religion they've accepted, and not the God they claim.
