A dog community on the blockchain: Register your dogs and get rewarded
There's a reason why people refer to dogs as man's best friend. From licking your face in the morning when you wake up to randomly sitting on your feet when your toes are cold, dogs serve well as a gentle alarm clock and the best slippers you'll ever have around. Maybe only when you own one, you might take fewer trips to the doctor about health issues. This position of friend and man's companion together with many other benefits of a dog has made dog owners care so much about the health and welfare of their dogs. A new blockchain project, DogData, is the first to take the bold steps towards providing a decentralised ecosystem for dog healthcare. DogData is a multi-layered network with a major focus on delivering the best experience to dog owners and their dogs. The project will utilise various frameworks to create features that will make this goal a reality.
The analysis contained in this article is a detailed explanation of DogData project. This article highlights the grading of all the features and components of the project. It analyses which of the features is strongest and can push the project to success
What is DogData project?
Basically, DogData is a multilayered blockchain project that aims to build a disruptive ecosystem for dogs and dog owners where many features and infrastructures are designed to promote dog health and welfare. DogData company is focused on providing the most comprehensive data registry for all kind/breed of dogs. Part of the value offering of the company is to leverage blockchain technology to create a decentralised record for breed details and DNA information about dogs.
Idea/Concept
Grade: 5/5
DogData team has identified that the existing services and infrastructure offered by centralised pet health companies are not diversified enough; with dog owners facing many challanges. Some of which are listed below.
- lack of unity among all dog owners.
- There is no detailed and comprehensive registry for dog data: No real platform that register dog data and information
- Most of the existing information and data about dogs are incomplete or untrustworthy
- The existing data records about dog DNA and breeding information are not digitalised; hence can not be traced
- Lack of required facility to utilise big data gotten from dog breed researches.
- There is no decentralised vaccination program aimed to promote dog health
- No platform for dog owners to interact and share dog data and information about breeding and selection choices
The idea behind DogData is to build all the features and services that are lacking into one decentralised platform where dogowners can easily access them. And the creation of system that reward dog owners with EtherBone tokens (ETHBNT) for registering their dogs and sharing every information about their pets. Submission of information such as dog food, walk and excercise routines, breed information and DNA records are rewarded on DogData platform.
Token Metrics And Utility
Grade: 3/5
DogData team created a dual token system. The project has an EtherBone token — ETHBNT (which are electronic form of the typical discount coupon used by many industries in many countries) and EtherBone coin — ETHBN (which are the ERC 20 transferable cryptocurrency that are readable in exchanges and marketplaces). ETHBN coin is an ERC20 token which provide access to the DogData platform and is the native coin that drives the DogData ecosystem.
A total 1billion ETHBN coins are created to power DogData ecosystem — the total supply will be reduced through constant repurchase by the team.
Utility
10% of the total ETHBN coin is allocated for the team members. The promotion and bounties will use 2% of the tokens. 72% of the total tokens will be locked in a transparent address as a reserve. 2.5% is allocated for seed funding.
Roadmap
Grade: 4/5
The roadmap published by DogData team is simple and fast indicating the level of commitment the team is putting in to the project: This kind of roadmap is good because it increases the confidence of the investors on long term. DogData plans to stage its IEO in Q2 of 2020 (May 18)and also reward the community of ETHBNT token holders.
Team/Advisers
Grade: 5/5
DogData team is big; consisting of the right individuals that posses the right experience in all the areas that is required for success of the project. the project advisers are also well experienced in dog business and cryptocurrencies — with most of them coming from established business companies. I am confident that the DogData team has the experience to help the project run smoothly from the beginning.
Prototype
Grade: 3/5
DogData's dog registration platform is working already. The register allow portal allow owners to register their dogs and get rewarded. The launch of the DogData mobile app will be by Q2 of 2020.
Competition
Grade: 4/5
Currently, DogData does not have any real blockchain project offering similar services for dogs. However, as a new start up on the blockchain; the project may face competition from existing centralised companies specialising on dog health. Interestingly, there is a lot of room for improvement in this space, and I am confident that DogData will be a great product if the team can deliver on their propositions and also conduct proper marketing
Hype
Grade: 4/5
The telegram group of DogData project currently has above 16k members and their Twitter has more than 11k followers, which is very impressive. Also the team's partnerships with major companies like Moola, Qalwin our dogs and Bitforex; the IEO sale is gaining hype
Wrap Up
DogData is a revolutionary dog health and welfare project with an experienced team, well designed roadmap and big partnerships — If the promised timeline is followed and implemented properly, DogData could easily become a leader in the pet industry
