What is your biggest dream which you want to achieve?.

Two things are involved in life when it comes to one's dreams and aspirations. One thing is to dream, and the other is to achieve the dreams.

I doubt if there are people without dreams in this life because even a growing child has a dream of attending and completing his education like my son will tell me many times that he's going to a new class and that soon he'll be done with his basic education. He says he wants to be a Pastor, (a preacher) and also an engineer.

I have had many dreams in my life, some have been achieved while some are yet to be achieved, which sometimes makes me sad and unfulfilled. But then, I still keep hope alive, knowing I may achieve them some day.

However, my dream is to become an administrator in the government. I dream of achieving this some day. I admire women in politics, women who speak to defend their people at the legislative houses in my country.

One may wonder what my interest is in becoming a politician. Well, my reason is not far-fetched because I have great women around me who are doing great being female administrators. One of such women is the Deputy Governor of my state. Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. I remember the day she was sworn in as the state's deputy governor. I could feel the surrounding air was filled with a sense of accomplishment and great joy.

I looked at her and I asked myself, is she not a woman? She is married, she is a mother, then why can't I achieve that? I made up my mind that day that I would be like that woman someday. Although I understand that she started little till she became a senator and then a Deputy Governor.

Some of the problems I am having right now are:

1. Support for women in governance is highly politicised, making it difficult for people like us who haven't been politicians before.

2. God fatherism/mentor: in my country's politics, this is one of the issues people face. Before anyone takes on any position, he/she must have someone to speak for him. And this I don't have

3. Time constrains attending political meetings because of having to care for my children who are still very young.

Not withstanding, I have registered with a political party, which is the first step to joining politics based on democracy as practised in my country. Besides that, I have discussed with my husband to inform me of any reasonable political meetings that I can be in attendance since he has first-hand information about their meetings.

Dreams are only attainable through dedication and passion. I desire it, my passion is aligned to my expectations, it will come to pass.
