Main Story 😍

Three weeks before Jules Potter's 28th birthday, Michael O'Neal, a Chicago sportswriter, calls her on the phone. Jules Potter works as a gourmet critic in New York City. Having known one other for a long time, they had agreed that if they were both still unmarried at the age of 28, they would get married. The announcement is made to Kimmy Wallace, the daughter of the owner of the Chicago White Sox, that she will be Michael's wife in four days. Michael, Jules' real love, has convinced her to ruin his wedding by causing a commotion. Kimmy throws a surprise party for her and invites her to be her maid of honor at Michael's wedding in Chicago. Jules devises a plan to separate them, but her humiliation at a karaoke club proves to be the final straw. She persuades Kimmy to ask her father for a job for Michael, despite being well aware that doing so will distress him, but this too fails.

After finding herself in a difficult situation, Jules turns to her longtime friend George Downes for aid. While preparing to tell Michael how much she loves him, Jules decides to notify him that she has been engaged to George to make him jealous, following George's advice. The song I Say a Little Prayer is performed entirely by all of the restaurant's patrons, including George, who happens to be homosexual. Jules feels embarrassed as a result of this during a wedding reception meal. When Michael arrives home to discover Jules alone, he realizes that her relationship with George is on the rocks and that he must intervene. Despite Michael's admission of envy, she decides to disregard both him and her feelings of resentment and disappointment. When Michael performs their song, The Way You Look Tonight, they all dance in sync with one another.

To assist Kimmy's father in employing Jules, Jules pretends to be Michael's boss and forges a letter indicating such the day before the wedding takes place. Jules discovers the following day that neither Michael nor Kimmy notified anybody else about the wedding's postponement. Jules is furious. Her goal is to persuade Michael and Kimmy to call off their engagement, but they decide to go ahead and marry anyhow. Last but not least, Jules conveys her feelings for Michael with a passionate kiss on his lips. When Kimmy notices this, she jumps into a caterer's truck and flees from Michael and Jules's presence. Jules finds out from George that Michael is head over heels in love with Kimmy. In Chicago Union Station, Jules tells Michael all she knows about him. She accepted his proposal to Kimmy, to his relief, and the two of them went off on their own to track her down.

Jules discovers Kimmy in the toilet of Comiskey Park. Kimmy confronts Jules in front of a large audience for meddling with Michael's personal life. They only reunite after Jules expresses regret and assures Kimmy that Michael is, in fact, in love with her. During the reception, Jules, Kimmy's maid of honor, makes an impassioned speech that touches the audience. After the newlyweds have chosen their music for their wedding, Jules agrees to let them borrow The Way You Look Tonight for their reception. When Jules and Michael have finished saying their final goodbyes, they will begin their journey. Jules comes across George as he is on the phone, and the two begin to dance together.💖💖
