Better Life With Steemit: THE DIARY GAME: DATE 13 08 2021 DAY 1 (MAYBE 2) - HOSTING MY WORKPLACE 9th YEAR ANNIVERSARY EVENT
Because of the nature of my work, and how exerting it could be, I usually find it hard to keep up with publications on Steemit. It is for this reason that I have decided to maybe restart my Diary Posts.
On this day, my company was hosting her 9th Year anniversary, and I was meant to be the Anchor (what some would refer to as an MC) of the event. So for this reason, I left my house earlier than normal, but because of the peculiar Lagos traffic, I decided I was going to get to the event Center by ferry.
So, I took a bike from my apartment on the mainland, and on my way to the ferry station, I took some pictures of the different scenery I encountered. Here is a photo of a Supermarket called Justrite, It is fairly popular around these parts of Ikorodu in Lagos State. Especially because of its strategic location.
The road to the ferry station is currently undergoing some repairs, so I also took some shots of the heavy duty trucks and some other random places that caught my fancy. Mind you, I was on a moving bike, so it wasn't easy to pick and choose where to shoot.
Finally I arrived at the Ferry Terminal...
I purchased my ticket, and then proceeded to the Waterfront where I was given a life jacket before boarding my boat.
It was a very bumpy ride to be honest, and i was not sure at some point that I could take pictures from inside the ferry. When we were getting close to the Island parts of Lagos anyway, the boat driver slowed down a bit, and I was able to capture some nice waterfront buildings...
Then I stepped out into the streets of Falomo (still in Lagos State, Nigeria). And proceeded to board another bike to the venue of the event. Soon, I was at my destination. It was a 4 star hotel called Westwood Hotel, in Ikoyi, still in Lagos State.
Soon enough, I was at the event hall, and preparations started... it was a beautiful hall overlooking the waterside.
And when it was time, I changed my outfit, and preparations started in full swing. Spot me in the white kaftan, a Hausa themed cap, and a black walking stick. I loved my outfit, and even though the professional photos of the event are not yet out, I took some personal ones that I can still share with you here...
So, that was how my day went friends. I promise once the professional pictures of the event are out, I would do a follow up post.
Cheers!
Thanks for stopping by!
