GAME REVIEW - GHOST OF TSUSHIMA (2020) - PART 2
Hello once again, I am back on here again with the last part of the game - Ghost of Tsushima.
Starting right from where we ended in part 1.
In act 2, Jin kept in recruiting allies and unexpectedly he met a monk ally from Cedar temple named Norio. He said he was ambushed and taken captive by the mongols. Anyway you will have side quests available for you to do but that entirely depends on you.
After launching an attack and defeating General Temuge, you’ll get the ghost stance but from a story perspective your legend has been growing across the island at a rapid rate and everyone knows of you and your ghostly actions. So when ghost stance is activated you’ll become a fearsome warrior that scares the mongols allowing them to be killed instantly with one strike.
Khotun then meets with Ryuzo and mentions he has a plan to kill the ghost; Jin. That’s really gonna be tough though. Jin receives info about the straw hat men planning to attack him and so he should take care of them before proceeding to attack the castle once again. In the process of taking caring of them, Jin was attacked from the back and was held captive. Jin is then given the choice to surrender by Khotun. But he refused.
Jin escaped when he had the chance and unleashed his rage onto the straw hat men. It is time to make a frontal attack on the castle. Lord Shimura and all the available allies fight along with Jin to retake the castle. The mongols then unleashed horses with explosives with the aim of destroying the bridge leading to the castle. They succeeded in that and Lord Shimura suggests they repair the bridge and attack at dawn once it’s finished. But Jin suggests he sneaks into the fort and uses poison on the enemy. There’s a large disagreement between the two; one wants to win the war or die with honor, other wants to do what’s necessary to win and give the people a better future.
Jin went ahead and sneaked into the castle through the rocks with his climbing gear. Jin try as much as he can to poison the mongol soldiers in order to get a safer passage. After everyone is dead, Jin made his way to the keep hoping to meet Khotun but instead he finds Ryuzo.
Ryuzo wants this time not to kill Jin, but to make allies. He has already broken Jin’s trust and so he wasn’t able to make allies with him. After defeating Ryuzo, Jin grants him an honorable warrior death and leave him there.
In the final act, act 3, Jin has no weapons and ammunition because he was arrested and locked up by Lord Shimura. he believes Jin has betrayed the samurai code. After an unknown man helped him escaped, he’s tasked to find Yuna and pick up the fights again against Khotun. In trying to find Yuna, the mogols attacked him and shot him with an arrow containing poison. Just about Jin was about to die, Yuna appeared and saved him again. After retrieving all weapons, Jin went ahead and reunited with his allies to kill Khotun.
Jin then talks with his allies about the plan they got to use in defeating Khotun. The main battle starts right away. During the battle Lord Shimura joins and distract the mongols enabling Jin to make his way to the top with ease. The one-on-one battle with Khotun is then taken place.
Jin manages to wound Khotun greatly and uses this opportunity to use more cheap tactics and poison. Khotun escaped to his boat to flee away but Jin caught him before he took off. You’ll fight against a lot of mogol warriors on top of Khotun in attempt to end his life. Jin manages to wound Khotun badly once more and Khotun will say his death does not matter as he will be remembered but Jin assured him that that’s wrong and he will be remembered.
Once you kill Khotun, the mongol is not a threat anymore. After the battle Jin then talks to Yuna and she mentions that Jin has a letter from lord Shimura and meets him at the original training spot. He mentions how if they work together they can finish off the rest of the forces but lord Shimura has some other plans. Jin was no longer considered as a samurai anymore because Shimura thinks Jin has betrayed their code. You then ride with him one more time and eventually made it to Jin father’s cemetery. Lord Shimura then declared Jin as a traitor and the price of it is his head.
The game at this point presents you with two options; kill lord Shimura or spare him. If he kill him, he shows that he still has honor but he has to kill his uncle in front of him. But if he spares him, his uncle gets to live but shows that honor is not part of him even for his family. Regardless of what you choose, it’s up to the player. The only difference in killing lord Shimura give you the ghost armor in white and while sparing him will give it to you in red.
And that is the story of GHOST of TSUSHIMA.
I really hope you enjoyed reading this article. Thanks for your time. I also hope you will find sometime out of your busy schedule to play this wonderful game.
THANK YOU.
