  Around summer couples years back then. I don't really remember what years exactly, for sure I remember it was hot outside. I was browsing YT Music and I discovered "Japanese City-Pop" the first one was Plastic Love by Mariya Takeuchi, a hit single from 1984. I LOVE IT!.

  FYI, I'm from Indonesia and I can't speak or understand Japanese, just any few simple words even though the Japanese pop culture (manga, anime, etc) have already influenced me and become a part of my life since I was a kid. But still, every good song always break the language barriers.

  Another song played, that was Last Summer Whisper by Anri and when I scroll the comment below, the English translations lyric somehow hits me deep. It brought back memories when I broke up with my ex. We've been together for 7 years long, and that relationship has to come to its end.

  I met her when I took an English Discussion class when I was still in college. She had a crush on me, obviously, lol. After several times we went out on a date. Finally one time in the morning, I still remember it was raining, I sat down by the window in my room, gazed outside to the dead trees drenched by the raindrops. I played "Make You Feel My Love" covered by Adele over and over again as a backsound for a romantic vibes. Intentionally as loud as possible from my PC speakers so she can hear it too. Over the phone I ask her out to be my girlfriend. She said "Yes!"

  Time goes by... We've been through thick and thin, break-up and get back together again couples times. We both graduated and I got a job. I planned to set aside half of my salary for savings for my wedding. I intend to marry her when the time is right. There's one night when we had dinner, we made each other promises that if somehow our love faded away one way or another, we didn't have to make scenes or an affair for excuses, we got to be honest to each other and so we could go our separate ways with no hurt feelings. Turns out, it was not. it's really hurts.

  When I told her I wanted to quit my job, we had a fight that night. She’s not happy with my decision, but I had enough with that job. After my resignation and went back to my hometown. Our conversation went cold, no more “I love you” when we ended our chat on the phone.

  My buddies planned to go mountain hiking and I joined them. It’s a challenge for me, never done that before. Maybe I need a vacation to clear my mind and take a break after quitting my white-collar job.

  After descending, we grab a drink and rest our sore feet. I checked my phone after two day offline because there were no signals along the trip. I found so many missed calls, texts and unread chat. One that caught my attention. She texted me asking to break up with me. It’s a long text. I read it again and again, not sure what I read. But honestly, what I’ve been expecting that. I didn’t say anything, no text or call her back, I can't simply say anything. I couldn't grasp the reality back then. I showed the text to @mc-jack, and told the other what happened to me that night. They laughed and so did I. Deep inside of me there a confused, frustrated and an intense mixed up feeling that broke my heart to pieces. An emotional I can't fathom.
