I Have Been A Victim!!

Hi everyone,

I might call this writeup my own little poem, but since it cannot be described as a poem let's just call it a word.

Growing up, mama always told me to be careful around men.
But I did not pay hid to her advice.

I thought to myself; " what has this old woman seen to say all this".
What does she know?

I played with boys my age and run around the whole neighbourhood with them.
To me it was fun and all the boys wanted was to be around me all the time.

When I was of age I thought I was the most beautiful girl around town because boys were always found around me trying to either talk to me or to collect my number.

How I wished someone had told me that we had good and bad people all over the world and not everyone you come into contact with a good person.
Some just wanted take advantage of you when you are vulnerable.

And in my country, you could almost always feel vulnerable.
When you are out walking alone at night, you are scared that something bad might happen to you.
Even when you are inside your room alone you do not feel safe.

How I wish I had paid attention to what I was told by my mom else I wouldn't have been in this situation.

But what can I do and say after all this.

All I can say is I have been a victim and I will forever feel this pain which will forever be internalized.

This is my first word in this community and I hope you all like it.
