Poem: Man, Woman, She by @fairlyoddara
Man.
You frown and your lips curl into a sneer
Whenever you sense she's near
You hate how she makes your heart beat
You hate how she causes your heat
You don't understand why she's perfect
And how she's got everyone in her net.
Woman.
She's perfectly superficial and very vain
And so you wish to cause her great pain
You feel that her body can not be natural
It's way too perfect, the flaws too minimal
You know her effortless look must take hours
Yet she does it in seconds, one of her powers
You hate her for making you feel subpar and small
You hate her because, of all you want to be, she is all.
She.
She's aware of the confusion she stirs in the crowd.
She knows how it reacts to her being too proud
She forgives them because she can understand
That they'd turn out just like she had turned out
If being beautiful was all they ever had.
