THE TREASURE ( A story review from the book Millionaires Mindset by Gerry Robert)
Jenny was a bouncy, beautiful and cheerful young girl, she was almost five. One day while waiting for her mother at the check out stand, Jenny saw a circle of glistering white Pearl in a pink foil box.
" Oh please mommy can I have them? Please please please mommy"?
Quickly, Jenny's mother checked the back of the little foil box and said,
"A dollar, ninety five cent, that's almost two dollars, if you really want them, in no time your you can save enough to buy them yourself. Your birthday is only a week away and you might get another dollar bill from Grandma".
Lesson one.
The very first lesson I could draw from this story is great parenting. Jenny's mother demonstrating to her how the world really works. Hardwork pays and if you really want something you can work for it. Do not expect things to be given to you by your parents, friends, spouse or anyone. No one owes you anything.
(Story continues)
Jenny got home, emptied her penny box, counted and had 17 pennies.
Lesson two.
The importance of saving. Savings are a very important part of our life. Because of the saving Jenny had, she had an initial money to start with. Without saving she would have had nothing. Savings are expenditures for raining and needy days.
(Story continues.)
For a week, Jenny did more than her portion of chores at home. Then she went go her neighbors and ask if she could work for 10 cent.
Lesson three.
If you want something you do not have, you have to do something you have not done. If you want more in life you must do more. You cannot expect to do the same things you did yesterday and have something new. No. Jenny wanted more and so had to do more.
(Story continues).
Finally it was her birthday and her grandmother gave her a new dollar bill, and with the money she had saved, she finally had Money to buy her Pearl. She loved it so much, they made her feel dressed up and grown. She took care of it and wore it everywhere except when she wanted to swim.
Jenny had a very loving father who will read her bedtime stories every night before she sleeps. One night after reading her bedtime story, he asked
" Do you love me"
" Oh yes Daddy, you know I love you"
" Then give me your Pearl"
" Oh Daddy, not my Pearls, but you can have princess, the white horse, the one with pink tail, the one you gave me, she is my favorite"
" That's okay honey"
He brushed her cheek with a kiss.
A week later after reading her bedtime story, her dad asked again,
" Do you love me"
" Daddy, you know I love you"
" Then give me your Pearls"
" Oh Daddy, not my Pearls but you can have my baby doll, and you can have the yellow blanket that matches her sleeper."
" That's okay, sleep well little one, God bless you. Daddy loves you"
And always he will brush her cheek with a kiss.
A few nights later, he walks into Jenny's room and noticed her chin was trembling and a silent tear ran down her cheek.
" What is it"
Jenny said nothing but lifted her little hand up to her father and when she opened it, there was her Pearl necklace and with a little quiver, she finally said,
"Here Daddy, it's for you "
With tears gathering in his own eyes, he reached out to take the Pearls and with another hand, he removed a blue velvet case with a strand of genuine pearls and gave them to Jenny.
He had them all the time, he was just waiting for to give up the old ones so he could give her a genuine treasure.
Overall lesson.
Most times we wish for better things, better life, better beliefs but we are not willing to let go of our old things.
We keep praying for a better future while holding on to our present circumstances. God is waiting and willing to give us what we desire from him, life is willing and able to give us what we want from it. All we have to do is give up what we had and receive a genuine treasure, receive a new life.
The things we are holding onto, the believes, the character, the relationship, the job are the things keeping us from progress, from prosperity.
In order to have what you do not have, you must be willing to sacrifice what you have.
I order to have a million dollar, you must be willing to sacrifice your thousand dollars, you must be willing and able to sacrifice your time and knowledge.
Something for something. That's how the world works. Even the law of attraction demands you sacrifice old believes and then work hard.
This lesson is demonstrated right in the days of Abraham and Isaac when Abraham was asked to sacrifice Isaac.
Life is a cause and effect. You must cause something to have and effect.
I hope you are willing to sacrifice time and money on Steemit to receive genuine treasure from Steemit.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day.

very very inspirational bro. presently I need to buy a new car for my wife. but the old car still stands where I will have to park the new car. I so much love this old car that each time I write for sale on it, people show interest but I will end up not selling it. I know deep in me that if I do not sell that car, it will be difficult to buy a new car.
secondly, one other lesson from this story which is part of me is, to give the best you have to offer, do not give to people what you no longer need. I give out what is most useful to me. I love giving
What a great lesson. Thank you for bringing this lesson to me
