Your Face 🖋🖋(Poem)
It hurts to say your name, it stings to see your face,
I don't know if I can stay with you in this place.
You left a wound in me, I'm struggling to be free,
But I just wear a smile so no one else can see.
I write notes to myself whenever I feel low,
The thoughts that cloud my mind, if only you could know
The things I'm going through, right now because of you,
Somebody please come, and tell me what to do.
My mind is a furnace, my thoughts are on fire,
If I say that I'm fine, please call me a liar,
I saw you in my dreams, thought you were a blessing,
But you just came around to teach me a lesson.
I hold no grudge for you, I wish for you the best,
I'm glad that I met you, I know I've passed a test.
Lord knows I was true, I never meant any harm,
And if ever you need it, I'll sure lend you my arm.
Though it ended fast, and I hoped for it to last,
I still appreciate that you were part of my past.
Maybe in a different life, things won't be the same,
And maybe someday, it won't hurt to say your name.
But for now, I'm over you. I know what I'd do,
I'll make myself a beacon, I'll shine all over you.
The world needs what I've got, it's clear now that you don't,
So I'll leave you behind and move right to the front.
And when you see my face, you'll see there something new,
The passion you've put in me. For now, I'll say adieu.
And when I see your face, I'll smile inside my heart,
Cause this is something great, and right now is just the start.
