How to be successful on Steemit?
Hello everyone!! Today I want to present a topic, or rather, a question that has turned out to be quite recurrent: What am I doing wrong?
There are question and phrases like:
- "It has been 5 days since the curators go through my posts, something has happened"
- "They haven't voted for me for 10 days"
- "Please tell me what to do to get votes"
- "I need a piece of advice to improve my posts and get voted on"
All questions regarding receiving support from curators are directly related to the quality of the content presented, which is linked to:
Relevance of the topic for #steemit platform and for the life of the steemians (it can be learning to do something, recommend a book, share a recipe, etc.)
Frequency of publications, which results in greater or less visibility
Originality of the content
Prolixity and orderly organization of the publication
And all this improvement in the creation and publication of content leads to greater chances of being voted.
But... I have a question for you:

Are you on Steemit ONLY to be voted?
I'll be realistic, because of course, now you must be thinking that I also want to be voted on, and I couldn't deny it, because at least for me, it's a great help for my life (economically), but my focus, when writing, isn't the vote itself, but THE QUALITY OF THE CONTENT THAT I AM CREATING, not for curators, but for #steemit as a platform, for other steemians, and that at the same time they are topics that I like.
This leads me to mention this other aspect:
What is success for you on Steemit?
Once you can answer this question, you'll know where you are targeting your content.
For example, for me the success in Steemit is:
- That other steemians like what I share, and comment
- Improve my reputation on the platform
- Grow my position on the platform
- Increase my SP (although most of my posts are set to 50% for personal economical reasons, the other 50% that remains as SP I don't touch and have never touched it. As CR I couldn't do it, but I wouldn't try either, since is what gives strength to my account). So with each vote, I'm very happy, because that SP is growing
- Win more followers
- Run contests that attract attention and excite you to join
- See that the communities that I manage or moderate grow
- Be voted
As you will see, there are a large number of points that, for me, represent successes on the platform, therefore, as long as one or more of these things is happening, I am happy. 😊

How to improve your position on Steemit to achieve the success you are looking for?
These tips will help you answer the big question, How to get voted? But mainly they will be useful to improve the strength of your account:
Be persistent
Write, not expecting something in return. Write because you like it, shared pictures because you enjoy it, made a drawing because it fills your soul, and then share it with us.
But be constant and continuous in your presence. Don't be discouraged by days when there are no votes, you continue creating content, the vote will come.
From my point of view, the least you can post is once a day. Twice is ideal. Four times, it's too much. Sometimes I have no other option because between the reports and my own content, I have had to upload 4 posts. But yes, it seems like a lot to me, since neither steemians nor curators will have the time to read them.
Set goals
What do you want to achieve on Steemit? Do you want to have 10 more followers? How will you do it? Think about it and if you want, write it for yourself, take action and go for that.
Design a little planning
Okay, we don't want planning to interfere with creativity, which sometimes surprises us at any time of the day, but keep in mind a simple routine, which consists of setting aside a few hours to dedicate to Steemit on a daily basis.
Write down your ideas
Wherever you are, if an idea comes up, write it down. Have a reserve of topics that you would like to share with the community, in case the inspiration doesn't arrive. You'll already have, for several days, other options that you also like.
Be original
This doesn't mean that you have to "break your head" thinking about what it's or what hasn't been done before. Many times being you in your writings, without trying to imitate or exaggerate yourself to make a difference, is precisely what makes you unique and gives you that personal touch that represents you.
Reply
Take a moment a day to read and reply to what others write to you, this way your followers will know that you value them being there.
Invite more users
You can do this outside of Steemit or within the platform, inviting them to join your favorites communities. This will allow you to increase your own visibility, and if you reach out to newcomers, you will be their guide on #steemit.
Be patient
This maybe should go at the beginning, but persistence is fundamentall too. I put it at the end so that it also generates its impact.
Many, many times, I read these comments: - "when are they going to vote for me?", - "I posted yesterday and they don't vote for me", -"I uploaded my post 3 days ago and nobody responds to me*".
I understand 100% that one expects an answer, a message, a vote, something that indicates that our post has been seen. But… we are not robots… In my case, I'm doing what I can, and sometimes days go by and I cannot respond to notifications. That doesn't mean that I won't see them, it means that I'm reading, replying, commenting on other posts that I had before.
The same should happen to everyone. So it's okay to ask, but mainly, keep calm, rest assured, that your post will be seen. 😊
I hope these tips help you to be successful in Steemit!! They are those that I use myself, and with this post, I wanted to answer that frequent question.

Cómo ser exitoso/a en Steemit?
Hola a todos!! Hoy quiero presentar y abrir un tema, o mejor dicho, pregunta que ha resultado ser bastante recurrente: ¿Qué estoy haciendo mal?
Esa pregunta y frases como:
- "Hace 5 días que los curadores no pasan por mis posts, algo ha pasado"
- "Hace 10 días que no me votan"
- "Por favor, decime qué hacer para que me voten"
- "Necesito consejos para mejorar mis publicaciones y que me voten"
Todas las preguntas en relación a recibir apoyo por parte de los curadores, tienen relación directa cn la calidad del contenido presentado, que se vincula con:
Relevancia de la temática para #steemit y para la vida de los steemians (puede ser aprender a hacer algo, recomendar un libro, compartir una receta, etc.)
Frecuencia de publicaciones, lo que resulta en mayor o menor visibilidad
Originalidad del contenido
Prolijidad y ordenada organización de la publicación
Y toda esta mejora en la creación y publicación de contenido deriva en mayores posibilidades de ser votados.
Pero... tengo una pregunta para vos:
¿Estás en Steemit ÚNICAMENTE para que te voten?
Voy a ser realista, porque claro, ahora estarán pensando que yo también quiero que me voten, y no podría negarlo, porque al menos para mí, es una gran ayuda para mi vida, pero mi foco, al escribir, no es el voto en sí mismo, sino LA CALIDAD DEL CONTENIDO QUE ESTOY CREANDO, no para los curadores, sino para #steemit como plataforma, para los demás steemias, y que al mismo tiempo sean temas que me gustan.
Esto me lleva a mencionar este otro aspecto:
Qué es el éxito para vos en Steemit?
Una vez que logres responder esta pregunta, sabrás a dónde estás orientando tu contenido.
Por ejemplo, para mi el éxito en Steemit es:
- Que a los demás steemians les guste lo que comparto y comenten
- Mejorar mi reputación en la plataforma
- Hacer crecer mi posición en la plataforma
- Aumentar mi SP (aunque la mayoría de mis publicaciones están configuradas al 50% por motivos económicos, el otro 50% que queda como SP no lo toco y no lo he tocado jamás. Como CR no podría hacerlo, pero tampoco intentaría, ya que es lo que le da fuerza a mi cuenta). Así que con cada voto, soy muy feliz, porque ese SP va creciendo
- Tener más seguidores
- Hacer concursos que llamen la atención y los entusiasmen a sumarse
- Ver que las comunidades que administro o modero, crecen
- Ser votada

Como verán, hay una gran cantidad de puntos que para mi, representan éxitos en la plataforma, por lo tanto, mientras una o más de estas cosas vaya ocurriendo, yo estoy feliz. 😊
Ahora sí…
¿Cómo mejorar tu posición en Steemit para alcanzar el éxito que buscas?
Estos consejos te ayudarán a responder la gran pregunta, ¿Cómo ser votado? Pero principalmente te serán útiles para mejorar la fuerza de tu cuenta:
Sé persistente
Escribí, sin esperar algo a cambio. Escribí porque te gusta, compartí fotos porque lo disfrutas, hacé un dibujo porque te llena el alma y luego compartirlo con nosotros.
Pero sé constante y continuo en tu presencia. No te desanimes por días en los que no hay votos, vos seguí creando contenido, el voto llegará.
Desde mi punto de vista, lo mínimo que podés publicar, es una vez por día. Dos veces es ideal. Cuatro veces, es demasiado. A mí a veces no me ha quedado otra opción porque entre los reportes y mi propio contenido, he tenido que subir 4 posts. Pero sí, me parece mucho, ya que ni steemians ni curadores tendrán el tiempo de leerlos.
Establecé objetivos
¿Qué querés lograr en Steemit? Tener 10 seguidores más? ¿Cómo lo lograrás? Pensalo y si querés, escribilo para vos mismo y apuntá a eso.
Diseñá una pequeña planificación
Está bien, no queremos que la planificación interfiera con la creatividad, que a veces nos sorprende en cualquier momento del día, pero tené en mente una sencilla rutina, que consista en separar unas horas para dedicar a Steemit diariamente.
Anotá tus ideas
Estés donde estés, si una idea aparece, escribila. Tené una reserva de temas que te gustaría compartir con la comunidad, por si la inspiración no llega. Ya tendrás, para varios días, otras opciones que también te gustan.
Sé original
Esto no significa que tengas que "romperte la cabeza" pensando en qué es o que no se ha hecho antes. Muchas veces ser vos en tus escritos, sin buscar imitar o emeñarte por marcar la diferencia, es justamente lo que te hace único y te da ese toque personal que te representa.
Respondé
Tomate un momento por día para leer y contestar lo que te escriben, de esta manera tus seguidores sabrán que valoras que ellos estén allí.
Invitá a más usuarios
Esto lo podés hacer fuera de Steemit o dentro de la plataforma, invitándolo a que se unan a tus comunidades preferidas. Esto te permitirá incrementar tu propia visibilidad, y si te acercas a quienes recién llegan, serás su guía en #steemit.
Sé paciente
Esto quizás debería ir al principio, pero persistencia es fundamental también. Lo puse al final para que genere también su impacto.
Muchas, pero muchas veces, me escriben en comentarios: cuándo me van a votar? Publiqué ayer y no me votan. Subí mi post hace 3 días y nadie me responde.
Yo entiendo al 100% que uno espera una respuesta, un mensaje, un voto, algo que indique que nuestro post ha sido visto. Pero… no somos robots… En mi caso, voy haciendo lo que puedo, y a veces pasan días y no logro responder a las notificaciones. Eso no significa que no vaya a verlas, significa que estoy leyendo, respondiendo, comentando otros posts, que tenía desde antes.
Lo mismo debe pasarle a todos. Por eso, está bien que preguntes, pero principalmente, mantené la calma, la tranquilidad, de que tu publicación será vista. 😊
Espero que estos consejos te sirvan para tener éxito en Steemit!! Son los que utilizo yo misma, y con este post, he querido responder a esa pregunta tan frecuente

When we are curating we often follow 'comment trails' - moving from one author to the next via comments.
And the big one - how we judge our curation levels...
Authors have to think about what value they are bringing to Steem - not what value they can take out of Steem !

Hola @belenguerra. Es un gusto visitarte y ser de los primeros en comentar. La verdad es que tienes razón. En realidad, uno debería de estar en Steemit no por el aspecto económico, sino por el aspecto de emprender en algo nuevo. En convertirse en blogger, en hacer lo que te gusta. Las recompensas de la plataforma claramente representan un gran incentivo, pero uno también debe acostumbrarse a que Steemit pueda ser tu lugar para compartir, ver cosas, hacer amistades, y dejar el dinero de lado.
Es complicado para algunos, sí. La verdad es que hay mucha necesidad, y sobre todo en Venezuela, donde la gente necesita sobrevivir. Es entendible que la gente publique cosas esperando algo a cambio. Lo más difícil es aceptar que es así. Sincerándome contigo, una de mis metas es, también, crecer en la plataforma y poder mantenerme, que esto resulte un apoyo económico para mí.
Pero, así pues, puedo decir que sinceramente a mí me gusta publicar. Me gusta mucho editar, me gusta crear cosas, crear banners, darle aspecto a mis publicaciones. Más que una necesidad, lo he visto como una distracción, y un enfoque, un escape, para mantener la mente concentrada en algo distinto, en vez de andar pensando en tantos problemas. Eso también me ha servido mucho, para que mi tiempo pase de forma más amena, y menos estresante.
Así que estamos de acuerdo en eso. El éxito en Steemit puede significar muchas cosas, y depende de cómo tú lo veas o qué quieras alcanzar. Yo, personalmente, siento que alcanzo mi propio éxito, cuando me distraigo lo suficiente haciendo lo que me gusta. Para mí, haciendo eso, ya estoy alcanzando parte de mi éxito. Porque al final, el éxito no depende de lo que los demás vean en ti, depende de cómo te ves a ti mismo. Saludos, compañera

Si... entiendo totalmente, en mi caso es una gran ayuda económica también, ya que en Argentina la cosa está bastante difícil.
Sin embargo me he dado cuenta que ese éxito económico que se puede tener con un voto, es resultado de otro éxito que surge justamente como vos decís, en el amor y pasión que uno pone en el contenido que crea.

Buena publicación, yo por mi parte después de dejar Steemit por 2 años por temas personales, volví a reintentarlo y soy de las que no esta pendiente de si me votan o no? Claro que esta bueno recibir algún comentario positivo sobre lo que aportaste, pero no me desespero, sé que con paciencia todo llega, trato de dedicarle unos minutos a la plataforma todos los días, y participar de concursos.

Actually, the biggest thing steem has done for me is helping me create a portfolio of short stories and poems for reference purposes. Most times when I write in the past, there was really nowhere to post them, and soon after I lost the idea, the story, the work, etcetera...
I remember when I went job seeking about a year plus ago, and I could point out that I had a sort of portfolio in a blog. It was a very good feeling indeed.
So yeah, while the votes could be helpful economically (shoutout to @steemcurator01), the biggest for me has been the fact that I have a warehouse for my creativity.
And whenever I write, trust me, it will get posted here.

Muy acertado todo lo que dices en la publicación Belén. En mi caso a mi nadie me vota jajajajaj solo lo hace el bot de SBI. Pero es también, porque participo poco. Mi conexión a Internet hace que la navegación vaya muy lenta y termina por desanimarne.
Pero siempre procuro leer y apoyar las publicaciones de otros steemianos, sobre todo los que recién están llegando.
Mi mamá @carmenyuv y su amiga @martarg, tienen un poco más de una semana en la plataforma. Te diré, aunque las anima recibir un pago por el contenido que publican, están más emocionadas por tener la oportunidad de compartir sus pensamientos.
