The Interview Showcase #32 - Exclusive Talk with a Nigerian Medical Student/Writer
Hello Folks,
It's The Interview Showcase!!!. with your host ubongudofot...This is the 32nd Edition of “The interview Showcase...." and my Second show for 2023!
A lifestyle program that comes with many educational values. A weekly interview of top users/users in the blog concerning some trending topics on the Steemit platform. And tips that can help other Steemians to progress positively and help boost the Steem’s growth.
It will help you to get to know more about Steemians around the globe and even Steemit itself.
I take time to look at some of the most important topics in the blockchain and have a chat/call with top Steemians who have a greater idea about those topics.
They also share some tips that are able to help other users to understand the blockchain and make use of it in the correct way. Sometimes they seek some valuable suggestions here which can help them solve some of their challenges.
This week, I decided to sportlight a young Nigerian medical student who has been making some Interesting contents in the blog despite her busy schedule.
I put a call across to @kay-owobia who has been advertising her steemit contents on other social media to promote steem and steemit. This has been one of the easiest way for her to promote the platform.
🔶kay-owobia: Hi friends, I am kay-owobia. A young Nigerian with a strong affinity for growth, development and amongst all, her ink.
🔶kay-owobia: I joined steemit sometime early December 2021. I am about a year and 1 month now.
Outside steemit. I am an online vendor. I deal with data networks in Nigeria, TV subscriptions, airtime and exams pins in Nigeria.
🔶kay-owobia: I would describe my journey on steemit as a not so smooth journey. With lots of speed bumps and halts. I remember when I stopped posting for some months but thankfully, I got back on my feet as soon as I realised myself.
🔶kay-owobia: Yes I am a medical student in the university of uyo, Nigeria.Faculty of clinical a sciences.
Medicine and surgery is my field of study. Dating back to primary school days, I felt "I want to be a doctor" was already a hackneyed phrase. But my I hated so much to see people in pain, it literally made me cry.
so I thought, If being a doctor is my little way of contributing to humanity, I'm ready to expend myself to save lives and bring relief.
🔶kay-owobia: Yes, I do have two published series but stopped posting on one and that was because the community I usually posted in was no longer active and supportive. Asides that I felt like I was slowly running out of content. And the least I wanted to do was repeat the same content.
Exceptional interest you say. I'm someone who most times have a hard time explaining myself. Writing had been my only way of expressing myself and lending my voice.
I try as much as possible to make my contents relatable, real and creative. like my teen series, I don't just write it for the teens out there or anyone reading it. most times they are the problems I face so I feel penning them down with solutions will not just help others but help me too.
🔶kay-owobia: The teens team you mean. well, I know I do have audiences even if it's not that massive. Not just the steemians though because I post the link to the contents on my WhatsApp status and I most certainly get corrections and commendations on it.
🔶kay-owobia: Nothing has ever been so easy. I try hard searching out topics that would be of interest to teens.
Sometimes I conduct researches just for this and get their thoughts on it. some other times I do some critical thinking on how much to present the selected topics in the most appealing manner without making them feel awkward.
Sometimes applying proper markdowns could be some stress because I'll have to put them somewhere very conspicuous to catch even the eyes of skimmers.
🔶kay-owobia: A caring user who is @ubongudofot did. He never fails to remind me the need to be consistent and active on the steemit blog..
🔶kay-owobia: Yes it does. one thing I have learnt from steemit is good mark on styling. As one you tend to get used to it already.
🔶kay-owobia: One of such activities are my teen series and some other of my post for e.g my diary game and other life relatable contents. Also, I do upvote others in the blog because a win for one is a win for all.
🔶kay-owobia: Yes there are, especially to my fellow writers who are not steemians. when talking about our career, I never fail to mention steemit.
And thanks to the steemitblog for giving the opportunity to blog here. Sometimes many of them don't know such blog exists and it's always a good time to promote steem and steemit to them..
🔶kay-owobia: Many people know different things about me so I can't really tell.
🔶kay-owobia: I love to read and write. At least novels or write a poem about the environment at that time or whatever is growing in my head.
🔶kay-owobia: One of my biggest pet peeve is self and time management here on steemit. It never gets easy anyways.
🔶kay-owobia: Like? I love music. "It's food for the soul" they say. And I have favorites from johnny drille, blessing tangbang, chike, owl city and a host of many others. My all time beats have been the jw originals, example " always rejoice and making true friends"
🔶kay-owobia: Steemit is a hot sit.Take extra care so you don't make the all time mistakes of powering down no matter how low your votes may be especially for the newbies. Never vote for yourself but be generous with your steem power with determination and consistency you'll get to the top....see you there.
🔶kay-owobia: I find a lot of peoples blog interesting. for example @fredquantum, @eliany, @yakspeace
🔶kay-owobia: For recommendations, maybe you could interview @edmund.nef from Ghana.
🔶kay-owobia: Wow, I must say, it's been a worthwhile one. I'm glad you came up with this. Many times I try to reach out to users with good contents but no need for a search because you always serve us quality ones on a platter of gold.
I hope you enjoy the Show...? Do you think I am missing something? Please feel free to tell me, let's make this better every day. Share your suggestions with me, I'll so much appreciate it.

That was a wonderful advise she gave to the newbies. Not to power down even when the steem power is too small. Steemit journey is travelled with passion and perseverance. People who are always poised will succeed. Several of these instances happened in Ghana and not all of them were able to wait. I urge everyone who is on the blockchain to hold on, keep the fire burning and move with passion. I always say that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Remembering where I was and how I have gotten here is amazing. Series of posts, comments a whole lot. I encourage all to do their best.
Awesome Interview Showcase you had friend. I encourage you with your other amazing pursuit. It isn't easy but may you receive the strength to move on. @kay-owobia that was amazing to have you. Thank you to all your team supporting this great work. Steem on!

Thanks so much. It was my humble pleasure
We support quality posts, and good comments anywhere, with any tags.
This is an excellent interview with someone who has gone through most blockchain fields specifically here on steemit. She has shown how she got her spirit back to become a consistent user.
I am happy she recommended me to be the next to be interviewed. I would have loved it if you could have asked her why @edmund.nef and not any of those she loves to read their entry.
Anyway, I am very grateful to @kay-owobia for putting me on the list. I will gladly do that when I am called.
Smiles. Hi @edmund.nef. Thanks so much, i really don't know what to say but best wishes in your interview
Thank you.

I'm most elated to be your humble guest today. It was a nice interview, and you did a great job.
