News Diary Game Friday 6 January 2023: Wedding Ceremony

Good evening friends,

Oppss today was really a happy but busy day for my family and my new in-laws because today God blessed the Union of the both family through our Son, brother and uncle and their daughter, aunty and sister in the holy matrimony. Joy filled my face when I saw my uncle kissed his new bride after the preist said You May Kiss Your Bride. Uncle Izuchuwu was really busy and happy with his new bride.

In the morning we his cousins, nephews and nieces woke up as early 5:00pm to start preparing for the weeding because the wedding ceremony is supposed to hold in the bride family house and church which happens to be really really far from where we lived. Infact the journey was so far that we did spent 4 hours on a hired public transportation bus. We had to go early because the ceremony included traditional weeding, white weeding and the reception party, because there was so much ceremonies to hold a day so we needed to start the journey early.

We reached at around 11 am, we went straight to church to meet up with the white weeding, although we were quite late we reached before the finished and after the white weeding the groom and bride took pictures with all their friends and relatives.

In the Afternoon 🌞🌞

At around 1 pm everyone was told to go to the bride family house, that was were both the traditional weeding and reception was held. We entered the transport which took us on another 45 min ride to the bride house. As a traditional ceremony garden egg and bitter kola was firstly served as sign of acceptance to the in-laws family. Do you know? because we didn't know the house we missed our road until the bride sister found us and took us to their house, that was indeed and scary and later funny 🤣 incident.

When we reached, we were directed to the canopy kept for us, then the both couple came out dancing while friends and family members sprayed them money. It usually done to support the couple cover up all expenses made during the wedding preparation. We spayed them money and the danced like there were no tomorrow. After dancing they were told to sit so the occasion would commence. As normal item 7 (Food) was served in large quantity and to be sincere I ate to my satisfaction, infact I had to start rejecting foods.

In The Evening 🌆🌆

The bride mother and sisters came to dance and greet my people their in-laws, while dancing the came out of the house with the bride and her luggages because after the ceremony the bride is expected to go to her husband house for their official honeymoon.

After everything we finished successful and happy because the bride followed her husband to his house, and we all left but the sad thing is that we had to go on a night journey because our house was really far. Infact I am still on the road when I composed this post
