Life is too busy not to have someone you share your space with
My name is Ruthjoe, I use to be a very lonely little girl without friends while growing up especially friends my age and my sex.
But who then is Best friend or a bestie When I already have family members?
A bestie is that one person in the world whom you are not afraid to share whatever with, be it your feelings, your thoughts, your failures and your mistakes. You are not even afraid of condemnation.
Non living things and my toys became my best friend at some point in my life. I was not afraid to talk to them, at home I remember several times I talked to the cushion in our living room and even used cane to flog it because I wanted to express how it felt.
But guess what? I was so happy when I finally made i first living friend who became my bestie at that moment in my life. Although we started off as enemies. Growing up I played with mostly guys because I loved the game of football. So I joined my female neighbors to go watch the game that evening when I met this pretty girl standing by waiting for her brother.
The moment she saw me she just got offended and started raining abusive words on me for no reason. I didn't react. The next day I saw her passing my house and I stopped her to beat her up. Well I did...long story short she became my friend. Her name is "uloma" . She was my bestie until I moved into the university.
The next best friend I had was when I gained admission into the university. Her name is "Grace". She was an instrument to my transformation. She taught me many things I didn't know. I mean good things. She taught me how to dress, walk and many more things. We even lived together and shared beautiful moments together.

Grace and I lived together in the same city until she got married and moved with her husband. I have known her for 14years now and it's cool having her by my side.
After Grace got married I made another bestie. Her name is Odigonma. She is an amazing lady. I remember traveling to go visit her several times in the city where she lives. My friendship with her has opened my eyes to life possibilities. Oh I love her.

The Major things I look out in person that I want to be my bestie is trust, patience, love, selflessness, thoughtfulness and kindness. When these qualities are intact then I can consider you as my friend
I always tell people that we are all work in progress, no one is perfect. My friends are beautiful yet we still have our low moments , I mean fights and misunderstandings. Oh Grace was a headache when we initially became friends. She came from a part of Nigeria where abusive words were normal and I came from the part where it wasn't. Our upbringing and background was always causing problems between us because she would insult me as a joke but I would take it seriously.
At a point I had to start trying to adapt to her jokes, but I kept talking to her about it. It took about two years for her to stop that habit. I did not have much issues with uloma . For Odigonma, hmm she is still a work in progress, she gets angry almost all the time, and it pisses me off. She seems stubborn too . So it's normal to have issues in a relationship with friends.
I love all my friends and guess what? Am still in touch with all of them. Two of my besties are married, just one is single. They all played a major role in my life and they are still playing the roles. We can talk about anything and many things. We keep ourselves company, encourage one another to move on when down and become successful. What more can I ask for?

I am very happy to see your post. You shared some beautiful moments of your life with a lot of love. Your thoughts about friendship and Beasis reminded me of my friends. There is someone in every person's life who makes their life complete.
My life was a little different, because I had a very good friend since childhood. We were together all the time and did everything together. I didn't have to talk to toys like you, because my friend was always there for me. Our friendship has made me understand since childhood how important a true friend is.
Listening to what you told me about how you used to talk to your toys, I also remembered something of my childhood. We all want to express our feelings, and if no one is listening, sometimes it's important to talk things off.
Your friendship journey with Uloma was very interesting. What started with enmity and turned into friendship is the joy of real friendship😂❤️. And then your relationship with Grace at university and her impact on your life, all of this shows that the right people always meet with time.
Every friendship has some challenges, as you mentioned with Grace and Odigomma. But the friendship that overcomes every difficulty is real friendship. Your experience has proved that if we have patience and understanding, every relationship can be strengthened.
