Controversy over Snico technology and Yashasvi Jaiswal's outing

in Hot News Community4 days ago

There has been a lot of discussion among cricket fans about Yashasvi Jaiswal's outing in the MCG Test. During the game, it was seen that the ball changed its course after touching the gloves. But Snico technology showed that nothing had touched the ball. This is why there is a controversy over the matter. However, most analysts and former cricketers believe that the out decision given by Bangladesh's Sharfuddaula Ibn Shaheed, who is on duty as the third umpire, is correct.

According to many, since Snico technology is used to make decisions, why was its result ignored? People like Sunil Gavaskar and BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla have raised this question. Their argument is that technology is used to reduce mistakes. So how was the result given by the technology ignored?

Snico is a sound-based technology. When the ball touches the bat, gloves or pads, a special sound is produced. This sound is captured by the snicko as a wave. The harder or clearer the ball hits the bat or pad, the bigger the wave. However, if no sound is produced, the snicko cannot detect it.

Hot spot technology was not used in the MCG Test. This is because Australia has stopped using this technology in most series since the 2013 Ashes. Hot spots clearly show the place and effect of the ball's touch. But since it is not there in this Test, only snicko is relied on.

Neither snicko nor any other technology is 100% accurate. While it helps in the game, there are some limitations. Therefore, it is very important to make decisions based on the experience and context of the on-field umpire.

The controversy surrounding Yashasvi Jaiswal's dismissal proves that even though technology has improved, it is not always perfect. Decisions need to be made in a balance between the on-field umpire and technology. It is hoped that more advanced technology will come in the future to avoid such problems.
