As one of those travellers, I will try to introduce you to the Ancient City of Termessos, one of the most beautiful ancient cities of Antalya that I visited today. Let's explore this historical ancient city together.

Nasılsınız bakalım. Herkes umarım çok iyidir. Yazın gelmeye başlamasıyla insanların çok daha neşeli olduklarını ve gezmeye daha çok vakit harcadıklarını görüyoruz. O gezen kişilerden biri olarak sizlere bugün gezmiş olduğum Antalya'nın en güzel antik şehirlerinden biri olan Termessos Antik Kenti tanıtmaya çalışacağım. Hadi hep birlikte bu tarihi antik kenti keşfedelim.

In order to go to the ancient city of Termessos, you should go from Antalya city center to Korkuteli Fethiye road. At the end of a 35-minute journey, you will reach the ancient city by turning left from the Termessos Antique sign and proceeding 9 km upwards with your vehicle.

Termessos Antik kentte gidebilmek için Antalya şehir merkezinden Korkuteli Fethiye yoluna doğru gitmelisiniz. Yaklaşık 35 dakikalık yolculuk sonunda önünüze çıkan Termessos Antik tabelasından sola dönerek 9 km yukarı doğru aracınızla ilerleyerek antik kente varmış olursunuz.

Termessos Antique City entrance fee is 12.50 TL per person. It is open to all local and foreign public during working hours. In addition, no fee is charged from our disabled brothers and relatives of martyrs. You enter the ancient city by giving you two tickets at the entrance. Since there is a large grassy area at the entrance, you do not have a parking problem. You can start the tour by pulling your vehicle to an empty area of ​​your choice. At the entrance, you come across a sign that will guide you. They drew a map of the places you will visit and gave a separate number for each section. Well thought out for us to follow.

Girişte size rehberlik edecek bir tabelayla karşılaşıyorsunuz. Gezeceğiniz yerlerin haritasını çizerek her bölüm için ayrı bir numara vermişler. Takip etmemiz açısından güzel düşünülmüş.

In order to enter the ancient city, after the entrance, you must walk up the dirt road, which is not very wide, with large and small stones, through the pine and oak trees. While walking, you feel that you are in that fresh air. While walking through the mountains, hills, bushes and trees, you admire the beauty of nature. As you move away from sea level, the occasional wind also gives your body a slight chill feeling. As you constantly move up the stony dusty roads, you get a little tired. Benches are placed on the roadside after every 150 meters that will allow you to rest.

Antik kenttin tam içine girebilmek için girişten sonra irili ufaklı taş parçalı, fazla geniş olmayan toprak yoldan çam ve meşe ağaçlarının arasından yukarıya doğru yürümelisiniz. If you want, I can give you some information about the ancient city of Termessos as far as I know. This region was an ancient city built by the Solyms, who are said to be descendants of the Luwians, one of the oldest civilizations, in the valley of the Solymos Mountain, which is called Güllük. This city, which was established in the forest national park, is also known as the only city that Alexander the Great could not take as a result of long efforts. The fact that Termessos defended the region very strongly and did not hand it over to Alexander the Great also had an important place in history.

İsterseniz Termessos Antik kent ile ilgili bildiğim kadarıyla bir kaç bilgi vereyim. Bu bölge Güllük adını taşıyan Solymos Dağının vadisinde, en eski uygarlıklardan olan Luvi'lerin soyundan geldiği söylenen Solym'ler tarafından inşa edilmiş bir antik kentmiş. Orman milli parkın içinde kurulmuş olan bu kent, Büyük İskender'in uzun uğraşlar sonucunda alamadığı tek kent olarak da anılıyor. Bölgeyi Termessos çok güçlü bir şeklide savunarak Büyük İskender'e teslim etmemesi de tarihte önemli bir yer oluşturmuştur.

Let's talk about the baths of the ancient city first. As you know, the oldest history of the bath is the Romans. When we look at the excavations, we see that the baths were mostly used by the Romans. There are also separate sections in the baths. They built the steam bath, hot pool and cold pools separately. I think the stones that could not keep up with the times have moved from their places. Here, too, there were probably steam baths and hot pools. It is seen that the bath structures of the city are three-section arch entrance structures in order. It sheds light on such an ancient history that some of the large reinforced concrete structures in the arch stones seem to have collapsed. Lush vines also appear to cover the structures.

Antik kenttin ilk olarak hamamlarından bahsedelim. Bildiğiniz gibi hamamın en eski tarihini Romalılar oluşturur. Yapılan kazılara baktığımızda hamamları çoğunlukla Romalıların kullandığını görürüz. Hamamlarda ayrı ayrı bölümler de vardır. Buhar banyosu, sıcak havuz ve soğuk havuzların bölümlerini ayrı ayrı inşa etmişlerdir.. Bu roma kültüründen kalan hamam mirası buradaki hamamlara da yansımış olacak ki ayrı bölümlerden oluşan kemer şeklindeki büyük taş yapıdan içeriye girdiğinizde yıkılan koca taşları görüyorsunuz. Sanırım zamana ayak uyduramayan taşlar yerlerinden oynamış. Burada da muhtemelen buhar banyosu ve sıcak havuzlar vardı. Kenttin hamam yapılarını sırayla üç bölmeli kemer girişli yapılar olduğu görülüyor. As we move upwards in the ancient city, we see that the old stone structures are falling down. The city, which was established on a high mountainous region, is also very well preserved with its strong walls and castles. You have to walk constantly to see the structures that have been built. It is the place where the theater I am most curious about. There is a theater at the top of the city. To reach here, you have to pass through steep slopes and walk on stony roads. When you reach the top, an exquisite theater awaits you. It was built with such a solid structure that we see that the stones are still in place and intact until today. Another feature of this theater is that it was built towards the mountain slope. It is a hall with its back to the mountain. This theater, which is built of big stones, is located right on the edge of the cliff. We understand that the theater was built by building large, oval-shaped stones one on top of the other. It should also be said that some stones were destroyed. I can say that the big stones that were destroyed appeared in the middle of the stage in a shapeless way.

Antik kentte yukarı doğru ilerledikçe eski koca taş yapıların döküldüğünü görüyoruz. Yüksek dağlık bir bölgeye kurulmuş olan kent, sağlam sur ve kaleleriyle de çok güzel korunmuş. İnşa edilmiş olan yapıları görmek için sürekli yürümek durumunda kalıyorsunuz. Benim en çok merak ettiğim tiyatronun bulunduğu yerdir. Kenttin en zirvesinde tiyatro bulunuyor. Buraya ulaşmak için dik yokuşlu yamaçlardan geçip, taşlı yollardan yürümelisiniz. Zirveye vardığınız da sizi enfes bir tiyatro salonu bekliyor. O kadar sağlam bir yapıyla yapılmış ki günümüze kadar taşların hala yerinde ve sapasağlam olduğunu görüyoruz. Bu tiyatronun bir özelliği de dağ yamacına doğru yapılmış olmasıdır. Yanı sırtını dağa yaslamış olan bir salondur. Büyük koca taşlardan örülü olan bu tiyatronun uçurumun hemen kenarında yer alıyor. Tiyatro oval şeklinde büyük koca taşların sırayla üst üstte inşa edilerek yapıldığını anlıyoruz. Yine bazı taşların yıkıldığını da söylemek gerekir. Yıkılan koca taşlar sahnenin ortasında şekilsiz bir biçimde boy gösterdiğini söyleyebilirim.
