A Visit to Post Office in Kubwa Abuja.
Hello travellers, happy new week, it's a beautiful week and I can't wait for what this week unfold. Today on my blog I will be sharing with you a visit to the post office I did, sometimes last week. Postal office was the first organization established in Nigeria for transportation of parcel or goods from one place to another, these days we have different organizations that deals with transport of goods and valuable but in the early days it used to be postal office alone. The post office in Nigeria is owned by government, so all the runnings done are done by the government.
A friend sent a parcel to me from a nearby state, so I went to get my parcel and decided to do a tour as well. It's actually sad to see the state of the post office, it shows it lacks maintenance, if there is one thing our government is good at, then that should be lack of maintenance, well my post is not about politics, so I will focus on why I went there.

I got inside and told the customer representative about my parcel and I was directed to the person in charge, the person asked for a valid identification card, then check for my parcel and gave me a form to fill and sign.

It was quit easy and stress free to get my parcel and on my way out, I saw a telephone booth, I can't remember the last time I saw such in any area of the country, though the booth is abandoned as people have moved to mobile phones. I decided to take a picture of the phone booth ,so I would show my kids one day and tell them about the telephone history. Hahahha.

Since the invention of the email mobile phone in the modern era, the use of such post offices has decreased a lot. After a long time, today I saw a post office.

Yes that's correct. If the post office wants to be functional for a long time, the government needs to upgrade it to modern day technology like that if ups and DHL. If it's continue like this, the competitors will knock them out of business.
Postal services has long gone due to the invention of the mobile phone. It makes everything easy and simple. One can receive text to his phone directly instead of the ancient means which is via the post

If post office in Abuja looks like this, then nobody should speak ill concerning the post office in Uyo.
