MY DOMESTIC ANIMALS AND THEIR UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS //@essygold/2/02/22
NTRODUCTION
It is with appreciations to the great Community of @steem-travelers, thanking you for accepting me as a Member of the Community. Welcome to my Blog.
With that in mind, I make my very first post writing about the few domestic animals that I rear. Sit back and enjoy the ride on reading while I share my experiences with these animals and their distinct behaviours.
MY ANIMALS
Domestic animals are gifted friendly creatures from God. They live with us in the same environment. Like my grand parents, domestic animals sleep in the same house in a small corner with the family. They live with them without any known harm and are being well fed by them either with left over foods or with vegetations from the farm
Although my animals live in the same compound with us, we have built their own houses outside our living home. I have under my care the Goats and the Chickens. They are caged differently. But every morning I feed them together.
THE FEEDING
Feeding this animals is not so tasking because I have designed a feeding program for them and they adhere to it. The Goats mainly eat grass. The Goats have a name I call them and soon as they hear the sound of my calling they all gather together before me and I start to reward them with their food. Even the Chickens and Cockrell all of them knows when I call and they also knows me personally. They are not harmful.
Every morning I feed them with corn and beans shaft that I usually buy from the local animal market. They will all run speedily to pick from the foods thrown to them as if it is based on the struggle of the fittest. I also make sure to fill their basins with water daily.
The Whytes
CHARACTERISTICS
They have their unique nature too. I will only talk a little about the Goats. I have names for each of my Goats and I do call them by their names so as to distinguish between each of them.
The Whytes above is very good at defending it's territory. When food are brought to them, I usually separate her own because she will not allow others to come nearer. That's what exactly it is doing up there. It always like her child to feed with her and will fight with its horn on the rest including the Chickens.
My Blacky
I kept My Blacky at a separate corner because it's not as strong like the rest but it still have it's uniqueness. It just gave birth to an orange coloured Goat. I was so surprised. The male that mate her contributed greatly to her having this type of baby male goat unlike her first birth that was just like her even in size. But it loves eating and drinks a lot of water.
Brown Goats
These very Brown goat is the oldest among them. It's about 7 years old. It is the strongest and fastest among them all. It's fight knows no boundary. None of the goats can dare it. I call her the warrior. It has given birth many times, some of which has been turned to cash. I love keeping it because of its steadfast nature. It loves food and water.
When they go out to hunt for food, they usually knows time to come home instinctively especially when it is getting dark.
They can read the weather on their own without any gadget. Because of their hairy nature, they hate being wet with water and detest rainy season.
ADVANTAGES
Domestic animals are highly valuable as a possession. There are many advantages one can derive from them when you rear them.
Let me share a few here:
They can serve as meat for the entire family. You can pick any mature one among them and kill for food.
At times of occasions for party or a Get-together gathering with family and friends, you can just pick out any of your choice and butcher it for your enjoyment and everyone will be happy.
They serve as a source of income. You can sell them at any stage of their life depending on the purpose the buyer wants to use it for.
The Chickens eggs are natural and highly medicinal. It's effective for treating heart problems. The egg white can be used for hair steaming to strengthen the roots and to make your hair glowing. While the Egg yoke can be used for facial treatment to eliminate wrinkles and to slow down the aging process.
They hardly fall sick possibly because they are vegetarian by nature.
They give birth at ease without the help of anyone except on very rare occasion when the birth slimmy sac covers the baby's face. At this point you will need to help her cut it off gently.
DISADVANTAGES
Goats are very destructive when left on the loose. If you have a garden nearby to their sights, they will eat up the vegetations.
They can mess up the surroundings and their house from time to time. Without constantly cleaning up the place, you have a lot of foul smells.
When sick, they can easily die due to their fragile nature.
CONCLUSION
Domestic animals are a source of joy if you can keep them, there are a lot of huge rewards from it. If you have them take proper care to protect them from danger and harm.

you know, that is sort of my dream for the future. I live in a city, in an apartment but I wish some day to have a land to be closer to the nature, have some animals and small veggie garden - I miss it a lot. Sometimes I'm working on the farms as the volunteer for some food but it's not the same as having my own place. I know it's a very hard work, but also, for me, very satisfying :)
Waaoo @papi-mati I never know you are interested in this kind of projects, I wish someday you realise your dreams. Keep meditating on it and work out ways to actualize your dream. God will surely help you do so. Don't Give Up.
