Walking next to a strange device
Hello dear friends
The image you see may be interesting and amazing to you. What is this large metal square? I live in Iran in a border town near Turkmenistan. This large metal square is made to cut TV frequencies. These pictures belong to a few months ago.
My friend and I reached the mountain you see in the picture a few hours after the walk and climbed, and after taking the picture, we started eating tea and snacks.
It was a beautiful sight and we had a good day

Now, about this mysterious object from your post. I've never heard about that before and... wow! That's something!
So it's on Iranian or Turkmeni land? Why would the foreign TV stations be muted? Do you think it's just because it interferes with the local TV and make the picture less clear or is it related to politics or something like that? My questions may be dumb, if so - sorry.

Yes, I live on the border between Iran and Turkmenistan, and this is a large metal field to prevent frequency interference.
this is new for me, here in South America we don't have that kind of device, in Argentina, you can easily see the tv from brazil, Paraguay or Chile if you live close to the borders. that same for the rest of the countries. I saw from my experience that sometimes is better the foreign signal in the borders than the national one. Interesting, Thank you for sharing! :)
