Hello my steemian friends, great to be with you all once more. Hope we are having a nice day. I will be engaging in this contest in steem travellers community entitled Traditional food from your country
Introduction
This is a lovely contest topIc considering that we came from various backgrounds and cultures, so is our local traditional dishes.
We have so many traditional foods in my country, specifically in the south Eastern part of my country.
This Traditional food is called ABACHA
(AFRICAN SALAD)
It is a local dish served at so many occasions and ceremonies.
Ceremonies like
Traditional marriages
Receiving important visitors in your home from a distant place.
Serve as cola when meeting with Elders of my place
and other events.
What are the ingredients used to prepare this delicacy? They are

1 | cassava flakes(dried ones) |
2 | red oil |
3 | dry or fresh pepper |
4 | salt |
5 | akidi(black beans) |
6 | crayfish |
7 | onions |
8 | utazi leaf |
9 | Tomatoes(optional). |
10 | chopped garden egg. |
How do we prepare this
° Step 1- soak the dried cassava flakes to soften, also cook the black beans to soften and be edible.
° Step 2 - once those two are done, pour some red oil into another pot and heat a little, then add the onions, the salt and dry pepper(to taste) the grounded crayfish, and maggi.
° Step 3 - bring down the pot containing the oil and other ingredients from the fire, then add the cassava flakes and the cooked black beans to the mixture.
Stir the food around and mix until all the ingredients are evenly mixed. Taste for salt, and ensure it is ok.
Our African Salad is ready.
Traditionally, you can add stockfish to it, if you can afford it or add any meat; goat meat, canda(cow skin) and fried fish if within your reach.
Additionally, the drink that goes along with this delicacy is freshly tapped palmwine Tapped from a specie of palm tree.
You can see how, I designed and ate our traditional delicacy with my family.
