The fourth day of my journey through Central Asia

If you ever find yourself in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, don't just focus on the sights above ground—the city's "underground world" is a hidden gem! The metro here isn't just a means of transportation; it's practically a Soviet-style time machine, transporting you back to 1960s Moscow.

Though it was originally built to solve commuting issues, each station is an artistic masterpiece, almost like a museum hidden beneath the surface. Constructed in the late 1960s, this metro is practically the "long-lost brother" of Moscow's system.

The moment you step inside, you'll start wondering if you've just traveled through a time portal straight to the Soviet Union.

Each station has its own unique style. One minute you're standing in what feels like a lavish palace, and the next you might think you've arrived at a futuristic space station.

Riding the Tashkent metro not only gets you where you need to go quickly, but you also get to enjoy an "underground art exhibition" along the way. It's definitely a must-see for anyone visiting Tashkent. After all, where else can you find such a low-key, luxurious journey?
