Moment Of The Day Photography Challenge Week -64 || All Souls Day
Greetings,
Last week, November 2 was a holiday because of All Souls Day. A day to remember and honor our beloved ones, family, and friends who passed away. We Christians considered it sacred. Many people go home to province to visit the grave of our love ones. In my part l stayed at Mandaue to avoid traffic and expenses.
I woke up early at 5:00 A.M. and because I'm in a hurry I snatched burger and drank hot coffee at Jollibee. Then , I went to the market to buy meat and vegetables to offer for the night. I bought 5 kilos of pork, 1 kilos of pig's trotter and 4 kilos of pork belly. I also bought ingredients like scallions, onions, garlic, Gabi, and etc. Furthermore, I bought flowers to offer in the altar.
When I returned home, I prepared and cooked the pig's trotter. Here's the recipe below:
Ingredients:
1 kilos pork feet
1/4 Gabi
1/4 squash
chopped scallions
Green chili
Lemon grass
Ginger
Salt
Ajinomoto
Procedure:
1. Prepare, cut, and clean all the ingredients.
2. Saute the pork feet for 5 minutes. Then add 3/4 liters of water and bring to a boil.
3. Add the chopped Gabi and squash and reboil for another 20 minutes.
4. Lastly, add the scallions, chili, lemon grass, and ginger. Then sprinkle salt and ajinomoto to taste. Cooked for 5 minutes and done.
I also prepared and fried the pork belly to make another recipe. I took me an hour and I was tired.
I took a nap after I ate my lunch. Around 3:00 p.m., I prepared myself to go to the cemetery. There were less people compared to November 1. I went to the large cross to light a candle and pray. I prayed for the soul of my sister and father who died 20 years ago.
In the evening, we offered foods and prayers. My uncle led the prayer and after we ate together. It was the moment to reunite and to remember our love ones. I felt a unique feelings, mix emotions, sadness, and happiness.
I used my OPPO A96 to capture these photos. I hope you will have time reading my post.
