Hello everyone here, compliment of the season and greetings from this end to you all. It's a new year and i am glad that you made it to experience a new year filled with lot of opportunities, i wish you all the very best through out the rest of the year.

I am v-brainer, and i am excited to engage in this contest which is making it my first post of the year. All thanks to @abdullahw2 for organizing a wonderful contest with the title "Social Evils And their Eradication" in this great community 'Steem4Bloggers'. Please ride with me as ido justice to the topic and as well give some answers to the contest questions.

The society is a said to be a group of people living in a certain geographical settings and though the people in question has similarities or things in common but on the other hand can be very different in term of behaviour, actions and way of life. The society today is filled and mixed with people of both good and bad will and that is why we experience social evils in in the society today. Some of these social evils can be

• Bad governance
• Corruption
• Terrorism
• Fraudulent activities
• Human Trafficking, etc.

Bad governance

Infact bad governance today is one of the major cause of other social evils because like the saying goes "when the head is bad, it will tell on the body". Once the leaders in a society is not accountable then it affects the followers adversely. Bad governance gives room for insurgency, corruption, recession and so many other problems in a society or country.

Corruption

Corruption means something good that has been turned to evil or manipulation done to suite one's selfish desire. Corruption today is not just endemic to the leaders alone or people of high class in the society but has also eaten deep into people of different strata. Corruption is very bad in the society and trust me everybody has a part to play in eradicating it completely from the society.

Terrorism

Terrorism is the unlawful act of violence by a group to create distress and fear among civilians and this is mostly used as a weapon to archive selfish political gains. Sometimes its so confusing as to why people involve in terrorism, can possibly be as as a result false orientation, money or trauma, but either way it is bad and evil to the society.

Fraudulent Activities

From the word fraud, it is a crime which involves the illegal obtaining of money and other kind of asset from people. Fraud can be done by deceiving people to obtain their things either physicaly or online, it is also be termed as stealing. This can be as a result of bad influence from pair group especially among youths poverty, etc.

Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking is the act of forcing, deceiving manipulating people in other to use their labour or service out of their own wish to make profit or gain. The victim most times are deceived with fake promises, the traffickers atimes lie to the victims and make them hope for better life and end up using them for their own selfish benefits. Human Trafficking is a very bad social evil and should be stopped.

There are so many reason for the spread of social evils depending on the location. Take for example Africa, one of the major problem most African countries face is as a result of bad leadership. Bad leadership can lead to increased rate of poverty, poverty can lead to fraudulent activities, human Trafficking, terrorism and so on. For most of the European and American countries, it can be as a result of drug addiction, intercountry conflict and so on.

Social evil has so much adverse effect on the society and the people living in the society too. Social evil leads to setback in the economy of the society in question, it leads to slow growth and development of the said society. It is really funny and also sad to know that some African countries have most of the richest mineral resources in the world but are still underdeveloped, funny isn't it, that is some of the results social evil brings.

Social evil can also result in making individuals feel worthless, giving up and commiting suicide. Social evil has made so many business owners loose everything as a result of fraudulent activity, has made people become homeless and increase in poverty rate is also as a result of social evil too

For me, i think first of all is to select good leadership for the society because like i said earlier, bad leadership will bring forth more evils. Individuals especially in a democratic society should be able to vote for leaders who are willing to change things for the better. Good leadership matters alot and should be taken into serious consideration.

Another way to eliminate this evil from the society is from the place of worship. The effect and the need to stop social evil should be thought in the place of worship so that people will most of their bad behaviours. These lesson should also be thought in school too

A child grows with what he have been groomed with, and so these lessons should start from home from parents to children. When a children is groomed in a right manner, it is very difficult for he or she to deviate. Parents should be enlightened on the need to teach their children good morals.

Social evil is very bad to the society and people living in the society, let's join hands and bring it to the minimal and eradicate if possible.
