Music makes the world go round and round!
Without music, the world would not have been the same. We would not have been able to connect with others… well, these are my thoughts.
Ladies and gentlemen of the Steemit platform, it gives me great pleasure to introduce you to my song of the year for 2022…
Bayethe!
Bayethe is a word taken from the Zulu Nation, one of the tribes in South Africa, meaning “Hail the King”.
It is used in a traditional royal salute.
In this song, Bayethe is a salute to the Almighty King. A song that reaches out to God to save not only our county but the world.
Bayethe, a song from the heart, was recorded and released in April 2022 for a crying world.
A song with;

• Over 300 million streams on Spotify and now
• A Grammy award at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards
The Grammy Awards was hosted last week and Bayethe received an award for “Best global music performance”
A song that will skyrocket as millions all over the world will now be listening to it.

Bayethe, is a song in which three artists came together to make magic.
Not only a flutist but also a composer and producer who has won eight National and now two Grammy music awards.
When I listen to him I cannot help but wonder if he was born with a flute in his hand.
What I love about his music is the versatility thereof, from classic to contemporary to African beat works.
He was crowned with his first Grammy award for “Winds of Samsara”. What made this so special was that he worked with Ricky Kej, an Indian producer and composer. Together the two made the No. 1 spot on various International music charts.
The world will remember him for being part of the closing ceremony of the 2010 Soccer World Cup which was held in South Africa.
In South Africa, he is well-known for uplifting children. That then also the reason why he performed with the Ndlovu Youth Choir. A choir that stole the hearts of many Americans with their American tour and participation in America’s got talent.
A true South African music icon!
“I once gave the world a song that took the world by a storm… but I didn’t get this nomination”
These were the words of this female vocalist when she gave her thank you speech when the trio received the Grammy award for Bayethe.
Now let me take you back in time.
During Covid-19 there was a song that got billions all over the world to start dancing, from young to old, on their own and in groups. We saw hospital staff dancing on the rooftops of hospitals amidst the pandemic. A song that lifted the spirit of the world in 2021, Jerusalema.
Zikode, songwriter and the vocalist and performer in Jerusalema who started her singing career as a backup artist never received a Grammy award for Jerusalema although she and Master KG, who wrote the song, received the award for song of the year at the African Entertainment Awards.
This time she got it!
Known to South Africans as a record producer, male vocalist, and businessman. Well known in Africa as a DJ Artist and platinum seller.
He released numerous albums as early as 2008. Over the years he received numerous nominations and awards in the music industry. A highlight of his career was in 2022 when he received 22 awards for his talents.
It is clear that with talents like these Bayethe can only be a winner.

Wouter is forever looking for new talent and new opportunities.
After Jerusalema he went in search of Zikode as he fell in love with her and her music and all he wanted to do was to perform with her.
Eventually, he got hold of Zakes who put him in contact with Zikode.
In the end, the three of them then together came up with Bayethe, a song not only for the nation but for the world in difficult times and hardships. A song to inspire us.

One cannot help but to admire this trio for creating a song with such deep meaning.

Impressed is an understatement. They’ve created a magnificent piece of art. Not only does it showcase true African music but also the heritage of the Zulu Nation of South Africa through the dress and words of the song.
Through the tranquility scenes of the video the song speaks to you without understanding what she is singing. One word... inspiring!
I am a proud South African from Africa!
Although I don’t speak the Zulu language I cannot help to sing along every time the word Bayethe is sung. This I do at the top of my voice.
Wait let me share a few more of the lines with you. I will do it in writing as I can assure you that I will not do the song justice if I have to sing it in Zulu.

I usually love the vibe of traditional cultures! The arrangement mixed with the flute gives an amazing creation. Music is one thing that can speak to the universe regardless of language. It's a universal language. Eventhough I don't understand the language, I think
